Footscray Food Blog: Dosa Hut
http://footscrayfoodblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/dosa-hut.html
About Lauren Wambach and Footscray Food Blog. Footscray Food Blog in the news. Sunday, May 31, 2015. Anyone remember "hit the hut" from Pizza Hut? Growing up with one health freak and one culture freak for parents, hitting that particular hut was strictly verboten. It therefore followed that as a child, it was all I ever wanted. I remember on maybe my 12th birthday my dad saying I could go anywhere I liked for lunch - anywhere at all! One of the best-known South Indian staples is dosa - very light, impre...
Footscray Food Blog: September 2014
http://footscrayfoodblog.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
About Lauren Wambach and Footscray Food Blog. Footscray Food Blog in the news. Friday, September 19, 2014. HealThy Self Co., Yarraville. Do you know what a "crunchy mama" is? Don't come after me with handmade pitchforks. I speak with love because I am a crunchy mama too. Not nearly as crunchy as when I had my first baby (no cot, no pram, made my own ring sling, made my own cloth nappies AND. MADE MY OWN BABY BUTT WIPES) but I'd still consider myself somewhere on the crunchy scale. So I'm probably somewhe...

About Lauren Wambach and Footscray Food Blog. Footscray Food Blog in the news. Thursday, January 29, 2015. Fox in the Corn, Footscray. The fox is in the corn in Footscray. No, that is not some kind of code. The corn in question is this rather drab building on Droop Street. And the fox in question is this verrrrrry foxy fitout! Our new vulpine friend is a pasta bar, owned and run by the owners of Millgrove Pasta. A nice green salad because I am trying to be healthy (despite keenly coveting the buffalo moz...

raD fooD: April 2013
http://rad-food.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, 27 April 2013. Lately Ive been trying to push myself out of my comfort zone, it is good to get out there and try new things, and brunch is no exception. So when choosing a Sunday brunch location, I decided a little road trip was in order. Lucky for Dan and I, it was a perfect day for a drive along Beach Road to Balmains Cafe. Located on Were St in Brighton, Balmains has a delightful mixture of old world charm and modern touches. Wednesday, 10 April 2013. Le Miel et la lune. Station St Trading Co.
raD fooD: August 2012
http://rad-food.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, 16 August 2012. PM24 is tucked away on Russell St and as you walk by it is easy to spot the impeccably dressed wait staff go about their work. Once inside, we were greeted by attentive staff and a warm, even comforting ambience. Just perfect on a cold winter night. Sunday, 12 August 2012. Where do I start? Put briefly, Victoria and I fell in love with this old town. Full of students and old timers, Salamanca has a polar mix of people and a vast array of dining options. Lunch in Plaza Major.

Friday, 20 July 2012. During the past 3 weeks, I have been enjoying the warmth of European summer. Paris was mild but sunny and Spain was hot, hot, hot. It thawed my winter bones perfectly and now I'm back, ready to embrace coats, scarves and MIFF. Cafe de la Butte, Montmartre. Marche Bastille, Paris. Meson Cervantes, Salamanca. Champagne for snails: Winter wrap up
http://champagne4snails.blogspot.com/2014/08/winter-wrap-up.html
Random musings from my attempts at sustainability through my own suburban kitchen garden challenge. Saturday, 16 August 2014. Its cold outside Spring is just around the corner. Last week I sowed my summer seeds and my girls are back laying (and letting me know very noisily all about it). It's my first winter with a plot at the community garden and my plants have been going well out in the sun. Last week I thinned my first baby leeks for pumpkin and leek risotto. The Hungry Excavator: June 2015

Sunday, June 21, 2015. Seared Venison with Braised Red Cabbage, Pancetta Crisps and Red Wine Jus. I can't help but feel compelled to begin each blog post these days with an apology for the lack of updates. Most nights I'd try to sit in front of the laptop to write up new post but often just end up giving in because of how tired I felt at the time. I'm quite the social media fanatic so would be great if you got connected with me on my Instagram (. And Facebook page (. This plate of food was definitely del...
melbourne gastronome: Melbourne's own Mister Bitters bitters
http://www.melbournegastronome.com/2014/05/melbournes-own-mister-bitters-bitters.html
Friday, 30 May 2014. Melbourne's own Mister Bitters bitters. As my overladen cocktail trolley at home will attest, I'm an ardent fan of good gin and other spirits, and I particularly like to support Australian distillers in the small-batch liquor boom. Lately I've been experimenting a bit more with tonic syrups. And different kinds of bitters. And was delighted to learn in February that two chaps in Fitzroy were about to launch Australia's first dedicated bitters company. 1 June 2014 at 2:20 pm. This map...

melbourne gastronome: My nonna's sugo
http://www.melbournegastronome.com/2014/04/my-nonnas-sugo.html
Tuesday, 29 April 2014. That my sauce lacks – which I consider supremely ironic, given that her sugo was created then developed in Australia, rather than in the country of her birth. It was a hard life. For the first six months in Australia, including several weeks interned in Albury's Bonegilla Migrant Camp. For decades though, she steadfastly ignored the Southern recipes. Unlike most of Australia's Italian migrants who had come from the rural agricultural South, she and her husband came from the in...
melbourne gastronome: Real cider from Western Australia: Custard & Co
http://www.melbournegastronome.com/2014/06/real-cider-from-western-australia.html
Monday, 9 June 2014. Real cider from Western Australia: Custard and Co. Most of the time I say no when I get offers of promo samples, but I made an exception to say yes to Custard and Co. When they approached me because I have FEELINGS about all the sickly sweet RTD fake "ciders". This is their Scrumpy (unfiltered and uncarbonated) and it's bloody DELICIOUS - fermented and full of the flavour of real apples. Melburnians can buy Custard and Co cider at Blackhearts and Sparrows. 11 June 2014 at 5:19 pm.

A girl in the corner let no one ignore her cause she thinks she's the passionate one (about food). Monthly Archives: March 2015. Posted in Restaurant - Vegan. Despite this hyper level of awareness, it’s taken me a bit of a bloody long time to get to Mantra Lounge. But the lure of cheap vegan food cannot be ignored for long, and I found my way there for a weekday dinner. 167 Grattan Street, Carlton. Ph: 0414 888 002. Oh, and I'm Hayley! Alien's Day Out. About Lauren Wambach and Footscray Food Blog. Footscray Food Blog in the news. Thursday, September 17, 2015. Kolik jazyků znáš, tolikrát jsi člověkem. There is a Czech proverb I love, which can be translated as:. As many languages you know, as many times you are a human being. Yes, this is the reason I have been AWOL for the last few months. I stayed in wonderful places throughout France, from this houseboat on the Seine to a country home among the cherry orchards of Ardèche. From Morocco I flew to Spain...
