Thursday, February 1, 2018. Ocean-side wedding for orphan Emily. We have helped care for Emily since 2001. She is an orphan who was one of the first children given at place at the Tumaini Children’s home in Mombasa. Emily seized the chance she was given, did well at school and then went to university in Nairobi where she trained as a nurse. Once qualified, she had no trouble finding a job as a children’s nurse back in her home town, Mombasa. Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Christmas Chickens Make A Difference.

Friday, September 19, 2014. I can't believe I'm climbing that mountain again! I said 'Never Again' last year after I came down from the summit after a gruelling 6 day trek. Then the siren voices started: "It wasn't that bad! How soon you forget). "Can I come with you next year? Of course you can I hear myself saying! Summit day is October 8th, 2014. Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Cyrus - a Sunshine Success! Right now I am in my second semester in the university and is my prayer that God will continue to those who are providing my school fees so that I will be able to finish my four years term in the university. May God bless anyone who is giving anything to support sunshine home so that me and my fellow brothers can have a bright future which we had never thought of while we were in the streets. God bless you all. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Friday, July 17, 2015. New classroom.happy children (and staff). New classroom at slum school. The children at Church on the Rock School in Nairobi's Kware slum are very happy - they have a bright, shiny classroom! It's a vast improvement on the old one whose tin walls had jagged edges which cut the children's fingers. The new classroom was made possible by a generous Rotary District Grant which was initiated by the Rotary Club of Bromley who have been great supporters of our work over many years!

8220;Fathers Daughter”…. December 28, 2016. No good evening Father. For the way my life turned out. For the smile im wearing now. For the ‘don’ts’ you boldy highlighted but I got too curious and tried them out. Yes all of them…. Im sorry that you taught me to tie my strings and walk left but I chose to walk right…. For the many times they said ” she really is her fathers daughter” and you agreed but I worked real hard to disapprove their notion…. But paths, they say can never be shared with another….

Footsteps in Summer

Diary of an epic journey of discovery across Britain. Is the book which tells the story of my 955 mile solo charity walk from John O’ Groats to Land’s End, which I undertook during the long, hot summer of 2013. This was about 930 miles further than I’d ever walked before, so it was undoubtedly a major physical and mental challenge. The book recounts with a touch of humour the numerous difficulties I faced and the unexpected incidents I encountered during my epic journey. I raised nearly 18,000 for.

Footsteps in the Dark | a per-zine of whispered secrets

Footsteps in the Dark. A per-zine of whispered secrets. The *idea* of death may save us. May 8, 2014. I’ve been thinking a lot about death recently because last week Dave died. I’ve found myself returning again and again to a line I read in the book ‘Love’s Executioner and other tales of Psychotherapy’ by Irvin D Yalom (which is well worth a read btw):. 8216;though the *fact*, the physicality of death destroys us, the idea. Of death may save us’. My reading was this: that when we realise, fully, that our...
