Tahoe NF Home Page. Friends of Fordyce is a coalition of concerned individuals and organizations dedicated to the preservation of the Fordyce Trail. Participation from all people who love the trail is welcome as we strive to ensure continued access through political activism, education and trail maintenance. Tahoe NF Home Page. These are common sense guidelines that everyone should know but. Pack it in, Pack it out! Take everything you bring to the trail back out with you. This includes human waste. We use the PETT. Toilet system but there are many options. Clean up your fluid spills. We use the GOOR. Don't drive off trail! It is illegal, destroys our forest and jeopardizes continued access to our public lands. If you get stuck, take the strap or winch. If you winch, use a tree saver.

Tahoe NF Home Page. The Fordyce Trail is located at the Eagle Lakes turn off on Highway I-80. The Fordyce Trail is very difficult. Only well equiped rigs should attempt it. The trail should never be run alone. Someone in your group should have run the trail at least once before. Make sure you carry adequate food, water and clothing for changing trail and weather conditions or in the event of a break down that requires you to spend more time on the trail than you anticipated.
