BioBlitz 2015: Maury Island Preserve Network. Posted on June 19, 2015 by Bianca Perla. This time as I sat pondering, a big fat sea lion irreverently broke into my silent mood with his snorting and spraying. Diving under and resurfacing, he peered at me crazily with his glassy eye, snorting out water again. He made me laugh at the seriousness of my focus and I waved and called out to him, Come back Friday so we can count you! One of 16 species of fungi that the fungi team found. Don’t eat this o...Spend f...

The Tree Letter: Simply Living
http://treeletter.blogspot.com/2008/01/simply-living.html
Musings On A Magical Nature. Friday, January 18, 2008. This little image is something I created for the Vashon Wilderness Program. Today is a perfect late winter day - dry, cold (but not too cold), and quiet. I began the morning as I often do, turning off the electric fence and letting the chickens out into the garden, checking the hen house for eggs (one already! And being together. But then I think, why does there need to be anything more? Truly, do we need anything more? Even though I've shed a good p...

The Most Painful Goodbyes Are The Ones Never Said | Kate Strong | Intuitive Guidance I Healing
http://www.katestrong.com/the-most-painful-goodbyes-are-the-ones-never-said
Clear Ancestral Energies e-Course. The Most Painful Goodbyes Are The Ones Never Said. I have this quote by Rumi as my signature in my email – Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation. It feels comforting for me to know that at a heart level I have a connection to my friend who passed away 3 months ago. But I was spiritually bypassing. Avoiding my emotions and going into the spiritual realms too fast. It was s...

Signposts in the Mist. The Bull of Conflict. Litany of the Meadows. Poetry for Gwyn ap Nudd. Gwyn ap Nudd and the Old North. February 16, 2015. February 17, 2015. I’ve recently started researching Gwyn ap Nudd’s neglected connections with the Old North. In the final verses of ‘The Dialogue of Gwyn ap Nudd and Gwyddno Garanhir’. Gwyn states his presence at the deaths of northern warriors. In. How Culhwch won Olwen. The Four Books of Ancient Wales. This body of ancient British lore was absorbed into ‘Welsh...

a harper's garden: June 2009
http://aharpersgarden.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Ah, Rose. dear Rose . Roses still bloom on shrubs that my grandparents planted decades ago. Playing in the garden today, I went from rose bush to rose bush, intoxicated with the notion of creating with my friend Rosa spp. After that, I filled the jar halfway with filtered water and set it out in the sun for the rest of the day. My first thought was neutral. Certainly I feel warmed in spirit when I am with Rose, so I go with that sense. That's my experience today of Rose. Really, t...

Monday, May 31, 2010. Chickens: Alas, Poor Bluestar Kooshie the Amazing. She survived the long cold winter in NE Oregon (even when Cheeseball, her companion on the ground floor of the hen house, passed away). And she continued on, limping about, and huddling near the feeder for the next year. The above photo is from a year ago. Bluestar was my younger daughter's favorite hen when we first got our flock. A young Gwynne would scoop this (then) large bird up and cart her around the yard. Well, I never saw t...

Monday, October 12, 2009. Garden, Tincture Disaster, and Willow. Goodness, it's been much too long since I've posted here! Our pocket garden out back is doing beautifully, as you can see here. We may never see the corn actually mature enough to produce ears, but I am getting enough Asian greens to create small salads every day. Rosemary and Lemon Balm are doing well in pots, as is Spearmint. I love to take nibbles of the leaves as I pass by! Back into the jar, which I then filled with kirsch. After study...
