Carey's Castle is hidden in a forest setting near Clonmel in Co. Tipperary with the Glenary River running past the ruin and adding to the peaceful atmosphere here. A short walk of around 500m down a mixed woodland trail from the car park is well worth the effort as the trees part and Carey's Castle appears before your eyes. Bellevue House was originally known as Mount Glissan and it was the home of William Glissan, who sold the property to Thomas Denehy of Clashmore, Co. Waterford. Bellevue became the home of Thomas Denehy in the first half of the 19th century and was inhabited by Daniel O'Neill in the early 1850s. It was also later the home of the Dunleas but it is now a ruin.
