Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Boats, B-days, and the Grinch. 1st day back to work realization: Christmas 2010 was a blur. Maybe it was that we didn't manage to get days off before Christmas Eve, or maybe it was just that life moves so quickly. We managed to put up some holiday cheer at the last minute, both inside. On the day of our 3rd annual backyard holiday boat parade party (say that ten times fast! At Universal Islands of Adventure. J - Pacha Mama. Linda@ Lime in the Coconut. To a beautiful, bountif...

Friday, August 31, 2012. Lanterns light the way. I gave him a photo from Pottery Barn, and he built it. I love it. In fact, every time I walk through the garage entry door into their laundry room, I see the plans for the piece on the wall. That's what Dad does. He draws the plans, hangs them up in his workshop, which will soon no longer be the garage (after 35 years- yay! And builds it. Ok, I digress. Oh, the other calling.I'll bore you with that tomorrow. Yay my new friend! Learning a new set of horticu...

A Ponderer Digresses: May 2009
http://greenno6.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 31, 2009. I've been living in Florida for a year now. I've come to know a few things. 1 Go to the beach in the winter, there are no tourists. 2 Get your outside work done early, it will surely rain in the afternoon. 3 All of the little rundown looking restaurants are the best. 4 Crackers are the only true Floridians to know! What are Crackers you ask? Since then, I've had the pleasure to meet very few crackers. What I can say about each and every one of them, is that they just as friendly...

A Ponderer Digresses: March 2009
http://greenno6.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 6, 2009. Good grief. I decided to look at MY blog today, and whew! Has it been this long? Well, I won't tell you I accomplished anything on the list:. Haven't exercised and have gained 6 pounds since I last posted- eat out fast food about three times a week no thanks to my MBA adventure. Got the patio estimates- and we fought and fought over the patio and decided to wait, ok, now it's getting warm and I don't want to wait ANYMORE, I want the patio now! It also snowed while I was home, AGAIN...

A Ponderer Digresses: July 2010
http://greenno6.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 5, 2010. More Plants, Lots of Rain. Note- the summer is rainy season here. And we love it, and we need it. Sand doesn't hold water, so these little pop up thunderstorms build from the seabreeze that blows in from the Gulf, and it rains almost daily around 4-6 pm somewhere near. I mean, rains! Here's the list to add to the other one:. Carrie Mango tree (yes, a tree and it had a mango on it! 4 Allamandas (1 just wasn't enough). 2 Big hanging begonias- for the shade gardens. While it was freezi...

A Ponderer Digresses: Loaded Baked Potato Soup Recipe
http://greenno6.blogspot.com/2012/08/loaded-baked-potato-soup-recipe.html
Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Loaded Baked Potato Soup Recipe. B and I have been eating a low-carb (read = paleo diet. Menu for quite some time. First, we are not fanatical about it. If we want to eat pizza today, we will. However, we've been trying to consciously reduce our sugar intake. We've converted to a more organic diet than I ever thought I could afford. Thank you Trader Joe's. I can't say enough about how life-altering this workout is. And it's short- usually I am done well within one hour. However,...

A Ponderer Digresses: January 2009
http://greenno6.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 3, 2009. New Year, New Obligations. Chance and I made our weekly pilgrimage to the beach today. I still cannot stress enough how wonderful it is to be in south Florida. It was 81! The beach was packed with doggies and their owners (some of which I wish had stayed home and let their doggies come). We both enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Now, Chance is curled up on the bed asleep, with some ferocious gas. It's in Port St Lucie too- retirement home! Prep the new flower bed. Learning a new se...

A Ponderer Digresses: October 2009
http://greenno6.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 11, 2009. Well, it’s been awhile, feels like all summer. What’s new? Let’s see, 20 bamboo plants, common species name Graceful, of the Bambusa genera, 2 cattelyas, a beautiful oncidium, a colorful and fun purple vanda, a rescued phaleanopsis and 4 dendrobiums. Wow, now that I’ve written that, I feel like I’ve collected a few orchids this summer—9, is that bad? I literally have seen them grow over a period of 4 hours. Absolutely magnificent! Oh, one last thing, I celebrated my one-year ann...

A Ponderer Digresses: Decisions, decisions...
http://greenno6.blogspot.com/2012/08/decisions-decisions.html
Friday, August 31, 2012. I know, I know.I promised to revise this layout by now. Trust me, IT'S ON MY WEEKEND AGENDA.yes, I'm that boring. I read my blog as one of you the other day. SHEESH! I need your help, your opinion. I'm very interested in a variety of topics, and many of you who know me, know that when I find something I like, I tend to throw myself into it for awhile, until something else peeks my interest. Currently, those things are (in no particular order):. Job hunting and networking 101.
