Friday, December 31, 2004. I started to write something about Divine Grace and stopped. I got out the soapbox for some reflections on my other blog. I think I'll leave it at that. It's the last day of December, the last day of the year, 2004. Like every other year that has come and gone, this one has been full of joys, frustrations, worries, sorrows and abiding love. Regrets? None that I can think of at this moment. Any New Year resolutions? Each of us sets an example for someone, let us be worthy of it.

Right now? It's 111.9 degrees. The fires that spawned during the last thunderstorm are still burning up here, There were 158 but some of them have merged. it's still early into the fire season and already things are blazing out of control, that's scary. Monday, May 26, 2008. There isn’t a day I am not reminded of the men and women on foreign soil putting their lives on the line and for what? Freedom and the strong belief in it. If we can help secure freedom for others who can’t on their own, we are, by and large, securing our own futures and the futures of our children. For men and women to be able to see that big picture and to have the courage and the determination to see that through, is something that takes my breath away. Do we owe them something?
