This club history appeared on the cover of the 10th Anniversary Issue of The Peanut Whistle, which was given to club members in 1997. By that time, NF0R and KC0PP had coordinated the production, assembly, and mailing of roughly 120 issues. The St. Louis QRP Society has been in existence since 1987. The success of the club is due in no small part to an emphasis on. Meetings consist primarily of members taking turns in “show-and-tell” format. Some meetings feature volunteer speakers both members and visitors. We have a Tailgate Sale meeting in September, and a Builder’s Contest in April. During warmer weather, impromptu operating has been known to break out in the parking lot after meetings. The St. Louis QRP Society normally meets on the third Wednesday of each month at the Florissant Valley Community College at 7:30 pm in the Engineering Building on the first floor, in conference room E143. Anyone with an interest in QRP, Homebrewing or just having fun with Ham Radio is welcome to join us. The August meeting will be held as described above. Those wishing to eat before the meeting will meet at 6:00 PM at the Denny’s on McDonnell Blvd just off I-270. Everyone is welcome.
