Security, soccer, science fiction, stuff. I'm busy ranting elsewhere. Go find me there! Tales from my town, part who knows what. Someone knocked on my door just now (6pm). Fossicking About: Thanksgiving blues

http://www.fossickingabout.blogspot.com/2013/11/thanksgiving-blues.html

Security, soccer, science fiction, stuff. I've been writing (a bit) elsewhere. Writing that, I realise I need to change a bit of that. Maybe. But probably not in the next day or two and, on holidays when I do have time to "hang out", I'm never here. So, see? A place to work. Not a place to live. But, for now, that's ok. Fossicking About: I have feels...but not the kind they were looking for

http://www.fossickingabout.blogspot.com/2014/02/i-have-feelsbut-not-kind-they-were.html

Security, soccer, science fiction, stuff. I have feels.but not the kind they were looking for. Big day yesterday. I was glued to the television, cheering on This Team over That Team. It was the best. When That Guy ran over the line? Best feeling ever. It was like having Raylon Givens as *my* town's sheriff (Yes, I know he's a US Marshal or whatnot. Just go with it) and having the Tardis land on my back yard. But, the best of feel was, of course, for this. Look at the wee puppy! Look at the lovely horsies!

Security, soccer, science fiction, stuff. Finished class today to realize my sister had rung four times. Left no message. “What’s going on? 8221; I texted her. She called back right away. “Well, you see, the thing is…” “What? 8221; I was sure it was something silly. Something amusing. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed lately…and they've been trying to cheer me up. But, it wasn't that. 8220;Well, it’s Bhabi (grandmother). She’s…not here anymore.” “Where is she? An Analysis of US Foreign Policy

http://sis382.blogspot.com/2004_12_01_archive.html

An Analysis of US Foreign Policy. My continuing discussion of World Politics. Wednesday, December 08, 2004. Intelligence Reform has finally arrived. The big push from the bill came from the Sept 11 commission. And its final report which recommended a national intelligence director. The flaws they found with pre-9-11 intelligence was lack of coordination, lack of communication, and lack of accountability. So, this reform package is supposed to fix all that. So, how will this all shake out? We have this te...

An Analysis of US Foreign Policy. My continuing discussion of World Politics. Tuesday, March 24, 2009. A friend writes, "What the end of hegemony looks like.". In another indication that China is growing increasingly concerned about holding huge dollar reserves, the head of its central bank has called for the eventual creation of a new international currency reserve to replace the dollar. In a paper released Monday. Lets look at this more closely. The Dollar has its privileged position in the world e...

An Analysis of US Foreign Policy. My continuing discussion of World Politics. Sunday, September 26, 2004. In my WoPo class (new acronym coined by a student last year, i think i like it and am going to try it out for a while) last Thursday, one student asked "Why don't we just leave Iraq? I thought this an important enough question that i engaged the class in a discussion of it for about 15 minutes instead of whatever else we were supposed to be talking about. So, what is winning? Such is the dilemma of a...

An Analysis of US Foreign Policy. My continuing discussion of World Politics. Thursday, December 18, 2008. Rice Gives Political Scientists a Bad Name. An interview Condi Rice gave where she claimed:. And I’m especially, as a political scientist, not as Secretary of State, not as National Security Advisor, but as somebody who knows that structurally it matters that a geostrategically important country like Iraq is not Saddam Hussein’s Iraq. Matt astutely points out that:. Against the invasion of Iraq.

An Analysis of US Foreign Policy. My continuing discussion of World Politics. Monday, June 07, 2004. Its Ronald Reagan week in the news- so nothing important is allowed to happen until after his funeral friday. Lest we forget, the same press that now celebrates Reagan had an absolutely terrible relationship with him when he was president. Posted by peter @ 12:09 PM. Thursday, June 03, 2004. An Analysis of US Foreign Policy. My continuing discussion of World Politics. Thursday, May 26, 2005. Nuclear Diplomacy: How it might work. Iran agrees to stop enriching Uranium. WTO opens membership talks with Iran. Now, notice how the deal was cut. Iran's agreement is with the European 3 (UK, FR, GER), not wit the US, and officially, the US remains suspicious of any agreement with Iran. Suddenly the US just lets this go forward? Most importantly, though, it makes it much harder to run a theocracy. ...

An Analysis of US Foreign Policy. My continuing discussion of World Politics. Wednesday, March 31, 2004. NYT: Starved for Safety. So far the U.N. Security Council hasn't even gotten around to discussing the genocide. And while President Bush, to his credit, raised the issue privately in a telephone conversation last week with the president of Sudan, he has not said a peep about it publicly. It's time for Mr. Bush to speak out forcefully against the slaughter.". If so, what? Posted by Jenny @ 12:02 PM.

An Analysis of US Foreign Policy. My continuing discussion of World Politics. Thursday, April 29, 2004. Well, the exam is over, class is done, and summer has now started. I hope you all enjoyed writing about Washington and Wilson. It was a fun class- I really did enjoy the chance talk with you twice a week about the goings on of USFP. I plan to do some blogging over the summer, so keep in touch and post a comment and such, or just read along. That, my friends, is the future of American politics. What a f...

An Analysis of US Foreign Policy. My continuing discussion of World Politics. Sunday, February 29, 2004. So, all of you who think Bush has a well-run administration, what do you think about the open bureaucratic warfare between State and Defense? And what about this issue (which I , as a scholar/researcher find a bit troubling). In other news- what did I tell you thursday- Haiti is getting very interesting very fast. Aristide is out, and it looks like we are sending in the Marines. Moving on from history...
