Growing for millions of years! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Bits and botanical bobs. My Blog @ The Guardian. Hymenophyllales (filmy ferns and bristle ferns). Now and again we have some plants propagated by ourselves in surplus. Numbers are often limited to a handful of plants per species. Some of the money raised from the sale of these plants will be used to conserve plants both in their natural habitat and in botanic gardens worldwide. Proudly powered by WordPress.

A new season | Plantaholic's Garden Diary

https://plantaholicsgardendiary.wordpress.com/2014/04/20/a-new-season

Plantaholic's Garden Diary. Wordless Wednesday – Spring is springing! April 20, 2014. Well I’ve had a long absence, but the spirit has moved me back here again – or more likely all the flowers in the garden have prompted me to post again! Last year was so cold and snowy, but the plants almost all did amazingly well. This warm but very wet winter has seemed a little trickier than the cold, especially with bulbs and alpines, but on the whole things have survived pretty well. Phlox subulata Purple Beauty.

Plantaholic's Garden Diary. A wander at Pennington. Autumn colour at Stourhead →. Wordless Wednesday – Beautiful Blue! October 24, 2012. I'm passionate about growing many different types of plants, from alpines to fruit and veg, and this has what has led me to start this diary. I also love to visit gardens and nurseries, and to travel (usually with a heavy emphasis on plants and nature in general) and I will no doubt add posts about these! Plantaholic's Garden Diary. Wordless Wednesday – Beautiful Blue! A wander at Pennington. October 15, 2012. Yesterday was such a beautiful day that we decided to go to Pennington Nature Reserve, in the South of Hampshire – about half an hour from home! It was such a glorious sunny October day, with hardly a breath of wind (& the wind is often biting down there! The cows weren’t bothered by the bogginess underfoot! I DO love teasels, and believe me these are just a few of the pics I took! I'm passionate ab...

Plantaholic's Garden Diary. Wordless Wednesday – Beautiful Blue! Wordless Wednesday – Autumn Stars! Autumn colour at Stourhead. November 4, 2012. How fortunate we were to choose last Friday (November 2nd) for a visit to Stourhead! Lots of sunshine, and still a fair amount of colour, although this doesn’t seem to have been an outstanding Autumn- not surprising after the Summer we’ve had perhaps. Hard to take an original picture here, but you might like to share the views with me! Autumn colour at Stourhead.

Mutterings in the Shrubbery. Robert Stacewicz's Weblog. Singapore Botanic Gardens – Flashback. January 1, 2015. January 1, 2015. In January last year I set off on my travels which lead me to Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam and back through Singapore again where I got my return flight to London. I love the combination of concrete steps with the graceful arching fronds of tree ferns. The huge number of ferns and mossed in the beds really give a lush and restful feel to this part of the garden. In the backgrou...
