London Calling: March 2008
http://kathryninlondon.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 27, 2008. The village green, complete with duck (five points if you can spot him). Looking back the other way, to the road out of the village leading toward Pickering. Sebastian learned to say 'duck', while we were there. The other side of the Methodist Chapel, looking back towards the village again. The church we attended on Easter Sunday morning - a lovely service, with a welcoming vicar and a friendly congregation. The path up to the entrance at the side of the church. I loved that a m...

Musings on prints, drawings and other thoughts committed to paper. The Butterfly’s Wing. London Museum (mini) Challenge 2014 #1: Pitzhanger Manor. October 25, 2014 2 Comments. A little internet research later that evening told me that it will be closing in a few months for extensive restoration. And what better way to appreciate ‘after’ than to see it ‘before’? Come to think of it, that looks vaguely Hungarian.). Once inside the gate I was hit by déjà vu. The façade looks like a copy of the house in ...

London Calling: Love the lovely friends
http://kathryninlondon.blogspot.com/2008/02/love-lovely-friends.html
Friday, February 08, 2008. Love the lovely friends. Last weekend Johanna and I decided, just on the spur of the moment, to go into town to find the Foundling Museum. We caught the 55 as far as Gray's Inn Road, and then walked. on our roundabout way through Bloomsbury, we passed the Perseverance, and as we hadn't had lunch yet, decided to eat there. As it was after two, the lunch crowd had largely gone, and we had the place mostly to ourselves. Ice cream, pudding and Illy, mmmmmmm. Where have you been?

A Note of Friendship: August 2012
http://anoteoffriendship.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 18, 2012. Books, Books, Books! We love our books! Since taking on our new branch of publishing, Julie and I look at books in a whole new way. Before we even really look at the beautiful images and read the interesting text, we have to feel the paper, what is the weight, the finish, and the color? What kind of cover did they use? What special touches did they include? What font did they choose? What size book is it? Where was it published? With all of you in February 2013! It also talks a...

Sarah Bosworth: Book beads
http://sarahbosworth.blogspot.com/2010/08/book-beads.html
It's all about making. With a bit of other stuff thrown in. Friday, 13 August 2010. After the Origami workshop the other week I've been thinking about how to use the techniques in my own work. I am interested in the current trend for book sculpture and bookbinding and paper art in general really, and what better way to recycle old papers? I'm thinking of using photographs to make memory books, journals and sculptures next year - along with all the other ideas that are whizzing around my head.
