The Last | Natalee's Blog

https://foundthetrail.wordpress.com/2010/05/13/the-last

May 13, 2010 at 10:10 pm ( Uncategorized. What if you knew you were talking to someone for the last timeif that person would never speak to another human being? A woman was sitting there alone, and my friend approached. May as well make conversation. The lady, who was in her early 60s, had traveled to the park alone from California. She didn’t seem eager to chat with my friend and before long, she excused herself to use the restroom. Did any of you see a woman in her 60s up there on the trail? This woman...

“Networking” fun | Natalee's Blog

8220;Networking” fun. March 2, 2010 at 7:32 pm ( Uncategorized. I’ve discovered a new meaning to the word networking. It’s interrupting. The interrupter a pixie of a woman and a new arrival from Texas was nice enough and wanted us to know that yes, she does clean her own house! I don’t think I’ll be attending any more networking events like this one: zero structure, too much noise, and the expectation that you’ll purchase. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Mistaken | Natalee's Blog

https://foundthetrail.wordpress.com/2011/08/30/mistaken

August 30, 2011 at 2:20 am ( Uncategorized. I’d never seen that little boy move so fast. I barely had time to register what had happened when he flung his 18-month-old body across my chest and clung to me. How do you explain a noise like that to a child? Calm down, Joshie. It’s just a woodpecker outside on the roof, where we can’t see him. He’s mistaken the chimney for a tree. Now, ignore that obnoxious noise and go play! So I just rubbed his back and reassured him as best I could. What a fun and wonderf...

Would-be Hot Dates? | Natalee's Blog

https://foundthetrail.wordpress.com/2010/02/04/would-be-hot-dates

February 4, 2010 at 11:55 pm ( Uncategorized. I should be flattered that men are hitting on me. I guess. The first thing I noticed about the guy a few weeks ago was his lopsided-on-purpose baseball cap. I wasn’t sure he was talking to me when he shifted in his chair next to me at the library and half-whispered, How ya doing? I just smiled. A few minutes later he got bolder: Yeah, I gotta go to work pretty soon. I’m just looking for another job. February 5, 2010 at 4:03 am. You should write a book! I mean...

Joy in “Thanks”. December 12, 2009 at 6:20 pm ( Uncategorized. Have you ever felt amazingly uplifted after complimenting someone? Well, thank you for preparing the skit, I said. Oh, he said, we practiced that thing for months! Being able to express heartfelt thanks to someone who played a role in blessing my life was a great source of joy. I walked away smiling in spite of a depressing day. Even though I haven’t dealt with the issues depicted in the skit I saw last week, the message came across clearly&#...

Mud and Sunshine: And the name is...

http://mudandsunshine.blogspot.com/2009/03/and-name-is.html

And the name is. We beat our self-set deadline of picking a name for our little boy by April 1, and. Decided this past weekend. We have tossed around so many names it's dizzying, but we've finally settled on a name we both like: Jack. On his birth certificate, our little guy's official name will be John Stephen Phillips. My husband wants him to have a "proper" name on his birth certificate (as Jack is a nickname for John), and an option to go by John later on in life if he likes. April 4, 2009 at 9:35 AM.

Mud and Sunshine: 04.10

http://mudandsunshine.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Sometimes in the midst of life, I forget. Three poopy diapers and a crazy day of deadlines and worrying about family photos turning out and cleaning my house frantically kind of rolled in a like a fog today. It's days like these at a frenetic pace that I feel trapped, as if I need to take a step back and really. See life. And then life comes into focus again when, for example, my little munchkin falls asleep on my lap, and I take a bit of time to reflect. And I think: Really, what am I doing? I highly re...

Since my goal is to make one baby book for each child (equal rights! I decided to finish his scrapbook before our new little one arrives in early June (at which point I think I will be thankful just to shower and survive each day—and make sure my children do the same). In the process, I hope to also get at least a little bit caught up on my family albums. So here's to finishing Jack's baby book and getting ready to open a cute new book for a brand-new little boy! Mud and Sunshine: 08.10

http://mudandsunshine.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

About a month ago, Jack made his big move. We had been waiting for it for some time. We expected it to happen around 12 months, because he was on time with crawling, and early with teeth and some other developmental markers. So we figured walking would be right on "schedule" (wherever the schedule comes from). He had a little walker wagon that he loved. We encouraged him a great. So now I think I can officially say that I have a walker. And a toddler. Welcome to the world of walking, little Jack! Daily B...

Mud and Sunshine: 02.11

http://mudandsunshine.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

The year of 2. It may be two whole months into 2011, but here I am (umm, better late than never? I haven't posted in a while for no particular reason—just life in general gets busy and blogging hits the very bottom rung of the priority ladder. Being 2 means making the leap from the church nursery to Sunday school. Also crazy. We were pretty concerned about this because 1) he doesn't talk in sentences yet, and 2) he liked to eat crayons. But recently he learned the word Bible. The sweetest part of this 20...

http://mudandsunshine.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

I just got a new story book,. And a new shirt for a brand-new look. Because I'm happy to say. My little sibling is on the way! All three of us are looking forward to welcoming a precious little one next June (although Jack tends to think the baby is in his. Tummy from time to time). We are beyond thankful to God for this tiny, beautiful miracle; we couldn't feel more blessed! Now begins the guessing game.boy or girl? My husband thinks girl. I have no clue. We shall see! Mud and Sunshine: It's a...

http://mudandsunshine.blogspot.com/2012/01/its.html

We were thrilled today to see the youngest member of our family kicking playfully on the ultrasound monitor. It was beyond a delight to watch our second son's heart beat, see small arms move up to his precious face, glimpse his sweet little profile, watch tiny fingers and toes wiggle—and to discover he is a boy (all 8 ounces of him—not surprisingly, a little bigger than the average baby at this stage). I can't help but imagine what he'll be like (I do hope for a good sleeper like Jack! Big T and Little S.

Mud and Sunshine: Join us for the name hunt!

http://mudandsunshine.blogspot.com/2009/01/my-husband-and-i-have-had-quite-time.html

Join us for the name hunt! My husband and I have had quite a time naming our little boy. We haven't truly, wholeheartedly agreed on a single name yet. We've thrown several on the table, and they've all been more or less vetoed: Too common. Bad meaning. Not manly enough. Might get teased with that one. Simply horrible. Too old-fashioned. And our little boy will be ever-so-grateful to have a name! By the way, you can select more than one name when you vote if you can't decide! January 21, 2009 at 5:19 PM.

John 14:6 And Jesus said to him: I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life;. January 28, 2010. I remember Ruben visiting prophet TB Joshua in Nigeria after the tumor had been identified. I am sure he totally believed God would heal him, and the prophet proclaimed him healed, thus for many years after he did not have any scans. In the end the tumor either reoccurred or never was healed, and he died at age 39. That was yesterday. Rest in peace brother, till the end! Posted in South Africa. November 17, 2008.
