Impossible Things: May 2010
http://carriesimpossiblethings.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 2, 2010. Every year my dad goes to the race track on Derby Day. He doesn't go to the actual Derby, just one of the Cincy tracks so he can bet on the big race. Every year I call him and tell him to bet $5 across the board on the Number 4 horse (that was always my grandma's horse). Every year I lose. This year I called my dad to place my normal bet. He was under the weather so no track for this year's derby. Well, you can guess where this is going. The 4 horse gets into position.

http://carriesimpossiblethings.blogspot.com/2010/03/lessons-from-17-month-old-be-friendly.html
Monday, March 22, 2010. Lessons from a 17 Month Old - Be Friendly. Since the weather has been nice and we have been able to take more walks, I have noticed this more and more. What I have also noticed is the number of people who ignore her. Really! They blatantly ignore my cute, adorable daughter. Now, one might wonder if people can hear her, after all, aren't 17 month olds quiet? We are speaking of my daughter here - quiet is not in her vocabulary! I know that time will bring more caution and inhibition...

Impossible Things: Narrative Poetry and All That Other Stuff
http://carriesimpossiblethings.blogspot.com/2010/04/narrative-poetry-and-all-that-other.html
Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Narrative Poetry and All That Other Stuff. I have a student who HATES poetry; I mean, he detests it, and makes it no secret. He can't understand why anyone likes it. And, I feel for him. I hated poetry most of my life. Of course, I loved the little rhyming poems when I was a girl, especially poems from Free to Be You and Me. By Christina Rossetti). However, I am finding the peace that all that other 'stuff' brings. I'll leave you with a poem to slow down with . . . Ive only rec...

Impossible Things: Whenever You Can . . . Be Impossible
http://carriesimpossiblethings.blogspot.com/2010/04/whenever-you-can-be-impossible.html
Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Whenever You Can . . . Be Impossible. While working out at the gym this morning, I looked up to see a woman on the treadmill with a shirt that said, "Whenever You Can . . . Be Impossible." What a great slogan! I never did see the front of her shirt so I am not sure what that slogan was for. Who knows, it could be something awful, so I decided not to find out. I liked the slogan too much to have it ruined. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am a lover of all things that canR...
