Pour Me Some Slack. I got to thinking today: What’s more important to me in film – story or theme? I’m one who prioritises writing (both of plot and characters) when I think about enjoying a film, but in so many of my favourite films, i suppose I could’ve thought more consciously about themes the first time I watched them. In ‘The Crow’s Egg’, which I saw recently, I got to pondering about the differentiation of class, which I suppose is the main theme of the film. Date : July 15, 15.

Pour Me Some Slack. What I like best about the film is the way the director (a Ruben something) wrote the characters. Both main and supporting. At the beginning, we see a cookie-cutter wife and a successful, work-obsessed cookie-cutter husband and perfect, blonde-haired cookie-cutter children on a cookie-cutter ski holiday.
