California Kicking & Screaming: July 2012
http://cakicking.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 20, 2012. Well, we're mid-way through July and the adventures continue. I'm proud to say that television time is at an all time low and computer time has been drastically slashed! My cooking lessons with the girls were a success and everyone really loved the lasagna, apple pie and peach cobbler Josie and Katie created. I guess my husband was inspired by the girls - an invitation to a pizza making class held by Naples Restaurant, Downtown Disney. Apparently, they're 'naturals'! We didn't get ...

http://cakicking.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 28, 2012. That schedule leaves a lot of time to plan other educational opportunities. Jenny works until 2PM, but when she gets home, she conducts a Math class for the girls. Classes are from 2:15 - 3:00 every week day, except Thursday. (Thursday they both have piano lessons). Jenny has also scheduled a visit to an evening concert and a weekend camping trip for the girls. Another BIG event that took place this past week was Maddie starting college! Entrance to the Dorm. They have a 'spiritu...

California Kicking & Screaming: August 2012
http://cakicking.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 12, 2012. Josie, Maddie and Liam at the Irvine Farmers Market. We've had an eventful August and we're only 12 days into the month! Best part of August, hands down, was the return of Maddie. She finished up her summer session on the East Coast and brought her cousin, Liam, back with her! Second biggest event this month was the arrival of our 'Irish Cousins'. I was so thrilled to be able to return the hospitality shown to my sister, Suzanne, and I when we visited Ireland last November...

California Kicking & Screaming: February 2012
http://cakicking.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 20, 2012. Its a Big Day . For Many Reasons. The big news here today is that Josie lost her first tooth! That tiny little tooth has been wobbling around in her gums for the past two weeks. She was out with her Dad having lunch, bit into a tortilla chip and chomped down on something a bit harder than a chip. She told her Dad, "I think my tooth fell out". Sure enough, it did! From our referral report translation) . I know a lot of adoptive families make a big celebration of "Family Day" or ...

California Kicking & Screaming: November 2012
http://cakicking.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Guess I Missed October! I can't believe it has been 5 weeks since I updated this blog! Guess turning 50 really threw me for a loop! Not really, but its as good a reason as any for being such a slacker. I'm going to have to work backwards from the present to early October events, but please note that this does not indicate the importance of said events! I suppressed the urge, knowing that when she grows up, Josie wants to be a waitress, not a concert pianist. (! Josie decided to...

California Kicking & Screaming: January 2012
http://cakicking.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 21, 2012. 2012 - Off to a Great Start! The first 3 weeks of the New Year have brought a bounty of goodness. The beginning of January also brought a bountiful harvest from my lemon tree in the backyard. It was the first thing I planted when we moved here. Although I did have a few lemons on the tree last year, this year was a bumper crop! So, what does one do when handed a bunch of lemons? Why, make lemonade of course! Here's my tree after I picked about a dozen lemons from it:. We were ...

California Kicking & Screaming: September 2012
http://cakicking.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 30, 2012. Even Mom is Back to School! In mid-September I had the opportunity to attend a seminar in Boston, sponsored by the New England Historic Genealogical Society. I had the chance to walk around Copley Square on Friday afternoon and was thrilled to come upon the Farmers Market. It was a beautiful afternoon and it seemed that all of Boston was out enjoying the great weather. Here are some shots I took at the market:. Nick, Mary and Maddy enjoying the Italian feast! I hope Terry does...

California Kicking & Screaming: May 2012
http://cakicking.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 8, 2012. It Was Supposed to be a Quick Paint Job. Back in March, I started what was supposed to be a quick "sprucing up" of the girl's bathroom. I finished the project yesterday. Not the most efficient or timely work I have taken on, but I'm pleased with the outcome. I have had bruises on my ribs from time we moved in! Look at the grime that was under that door tract! Flooring and paint completed. Anyway, here's the finished product. Just a few more little items to grab - towel bars, etc and...
