In Anniston. Evangel Presbytery. Also approved the Hope Community Church as a mission church of the PCA with Faith Presbyterian serving as the “mother church” for Hope. In September 2013, Hope Community Church was formally organized as a particular church in the Presbyterian Church in America. Steve Mayes was called as the first pastor of Hope. Ron Hindman and Harry Knight were elected to serve as the first Ruling Elders for Hope. Sunday School 9:30 am. Morning Worship 10:30 am. Men's Bible Study: 7:00 am.

Steve and Ann Mayes are natives of Mississippi. Steve is from the small town of Lake and Ann is from the neighboring town of Newton. They were married in June 1989 in Newton. At that time Steve worked as a bridge inspector and bridge repair superintendent for the Mississippi State Highway Department while Ann served as an elementary school teacher at Newton County Academy in Decatur, Mississippi.
