Thursday, December 10, 2015. Monday, November 30, 2015. Saturday, October 10, 2015. I am not saying Adieu, just Au revoir for the moment. My intention was to close this blog completely,it has been going since 2007, but I'm not sure that I want to let it go altogether. I have thought and prayed about this decision so much. I will miss my contact with so many of you, but hope not to lose touch altogether. Who knows, maybe one day a Phoenix-like new blog will appear. Thursday, October 8, 2015. I emailed Inn...

Cornish Cream: Wet garden

http://frenchvillagelife.blogspot.com/2015/07/wet-garden.html

Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Even on a very rainy day there are splashes of colour in the garden, bringing the hope that the sun might possibly return. The pots of verbena, geraniums, lobelia and nicotiana sit happily in a corner of the terrace. At night the scent of the Nicotiana is overwhelming. I love to plant it in pots and place them near our seating area. This is 'Pullman Orient Express', a rose that came over from France as a cutting. I'm not sure whether it is found here. It's a blue corner. The rain ...

Sunday, July 26, 2015. Thank you for the lovely comments on the graduation. Grandson has a job waiting as a Research assistant in Kent, so he is delighted. Bit far away though. I'm taking a break for a while. August is always busy, We have friends who used to live in France coming to see us, four family birthdays, and various medical appointments. So I'll see you later. I'm sure I'll have time to read your posts and comment, but I won't be posting myself. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. My husband wasn't well ...

Cornish Cream: January 2015

http://frenchvillagelife.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 29, 2015. Check back next week for a giveaway. I'm gathering some bits together. There will be some fabric,. Some vintage table linen. Tuesday, January 27, 2015. I thought, at first, that I couldn't bear to watch the programmes on the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the infamous death camp, known as Auschwitz. Then I realised that it was my pain on which I was dwelling, instead of the pain, the unimaginable suffering, of those who were interned in this place. We'll wait and see.

Cornish Cream: Chelsea Garden show.

http://frenchvillagelife.blogspot.com/2015/05/chelsea-garden-show.html

Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Like many others I would love to go to the Chelsea Garden show- preferably on a day when no one else was there, except maybe the Queen. However, we have to be content with Television views. This year the Best in Show garden is by Dan Pearson, who has had an eleven year absence for Chelsea. He has recreated, and seemingly moved, Chatsworth House garden to Chelsea. May 19, 2015 at 10:38 PM. Wow So lush and beautiful. That stone piece looks like a person reading to me. Have a nice day!

Cornish Cream: An afternoon out.

http://frenchvillagelife.blogspot.com/2015/05/an-afternoon-out.html

Friday, May 15, 2015. Yesterday I took my husband to the Cornwall School of Art, Craft and Jewellery. (shown below). He had enrolled in a private class to do some Soapstone carving (prior to another stay at the Blind Veterans centre in Brighton). The school covers many different craft classes, and he came away with a perfectly formed miniature Etruscan vase. The only problem was that the place is way out in the wilds near Bodmin, and we got completely lost trying to find it. May 15, 2015 at 12:31 PM.

Thoughts and events of the day: July 2010

http://thoughtsandeventsoftheday.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 6 July 2010. A glimpse of England. I have decided to place a few shots of various places that I have visited in England in the past few years. It will give you a flavour of the variety of scenery you can find on a visit to our country. The shot below is of the choir of perhaps the most famous cathedral in England. This part of Canterbury cathedral was built by the Normans, as can be seen in the rounded arches. This is a shot of one of the splendid stain-glass windows. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Today I shall ...: ..tell you about moi

http://procrastinatorextraodinaire.blogspot.com/p/tell-you-about-moi.html

Today I shall . Tell you about moi. Tell you about moi. I am a forty something teacher and mother of four boys. Started life in Wales, studied in England and then moved back and forth between Wales and England for twenty odd years whilst fitting in as many holidays to France that finances allowed. During this time I renovated 4 properties and sadly moved on pretty much as soon as each was completed. When I do get blogging again you may even get to see a bit more ;). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Carolien's stitches: November 2014

http://caroliensstitches.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 25 November 2014. A week off . Have you spotted the white veil over the lawn this morning? Bird bath frozen, pansies heads down, white leaves . We had a touch of frost earlier on, but I think King Winter has really arrived now. Time for my cherished scarf from Jenny, I took it out a few days ago. Mmm, so lovely, that scarf. Yes, there are remnants of summer, nature continues to amaze me. But in a few days the leaves were swirling down, almost in a hurry . See the tree now, by the way? Oops, you ...

Carolien's stitches: April 2015

http://caroliensstitches.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, 30 April 2015. I hope you're all doing well. It's still cold here in Holland, we even had a late touch of frost. Time for some more warmth now, time to put the geraniums out! Yes, I'm politely waiting till the ice Saints have greeted us and have left the country for this year . The plants and trees are turning green rapidly though, thanks to the rain we had. Talking about green: I made my first olive green garland on the. Sampler. Lovely colours, I'm enjoying this new start. Home of a Quilter.

Carolien's stitches: February 2015

http://caroliensstitches.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Friday, 27 February 2015. While she's traveling . While Sofia is traveling by train to Zevenaar, I can show you my present for her. Last week I finished the top for her quilt. After more than two years! I had some 'in-betweens', I must confess. A baby quilt, Cock and Yvette's quilt . Since Sofia was so patient to wait and wait and wait, I decided to speed up the process. How on earth do you quilt a thimble quilt? It's a very lively but tiny pattern. Small patterns? Endless. Big patterns? Driving back hom...

Carolien's stitches: An afternoon in Utrecht

http://caroliensstitches.blogspot.com/2015/04/an-afternoon-in-utrecht.html

Thursday, 23 April 2015. An afternoon in Utrecht. Last week we went to Utrecht. André had a meeting there and Fleur was investigating something as well. We decided to combine things and spend the afternoon together, in-between-things. We visited a familiar ice cream 'hot spot' on the Oudegracht (translated: The Old Canal). They had a new flavour:. The cloister part near the Dom. I hope I can make more pictures to show you . Another time. House of the Pope. Sol iustitiae illustra nos,. We're nearly there&...

http://thoughtsandeventsoftheday.blogspot.com/2010/10/monochromes.html
