Monday, April 02, 2012. Her Children Call Her Blessed. I wrote this paper for my Hebrew Poetry and Wisdom class a few weeks ago and got 10/10 for it. She chooses wool and cotton. And sets the knitting needles to work. She awakes in the night. And prays for her family and coworkers. She sees potential in the dirt. And a garden grows from her insight. She opens her arms to the poor. And her hands and heart to the needy. She does not fear the snow;. She has clothed her family in warmth. To me and the world.

Froanna's Page: December 2007

Saturday, December 29, 2007. An Ode to Warriors. I've been doing some reading and thinking of Christlike Warriors. The guys who have encouraged and inspired the women in their life to find a deeper relationship with their heavenly Prince. When I first started reading "Authentic Beauty" by Eric and Leslie Ludy, I wondered, are there really any Warrior Poets left in this day and age? Sunday, December 02, 2007. Froanna's Page: I've Got Peace Like A River
http://froannaspage.blogspot.com/2011/02/ive-got-peace-like-river.html
Monday, February 14, 2011. I've Got Peace Like A River. I can't remember where I heard it, but someone once said, "What is life if we haven't got love, and what is love if we haven't anybody to share it with? Or something along those lines. One of my answers to peace is having people who love me and have experienced losses like my own help me along. People who have gone through their own pain joining together to form a mighty, rushing river of peace. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Once Upon a Dream.

Froanna's Page: Patience is a Virtue
http://froannaspage.blogspot.com/2011/02/patience-is-virtue.html
Monday, February 14, 2011. Patience is a Virtue. Not one of my strongest characteristics. I was on the phone with my work's accountant trying to fix things one day. She was waiting for her computer to start up and said something about being impatient. I said even microwave food takes too long! Maybe I should work on improving my patience. Nah, it will probably take too long. Just kidding, I'm not that hard core. So what are you waiting for? A new house, new job, a spouse, new plan, a child, to grow up?

Wednesday, February 16, 2011. PS I didn't write for 30 minutes. Will do better next time. Monday, February 14, 2011. This is bovine feces! This afternoon I was reading a post by Jamie from To Write Love On Her Arms and a thought popped into my head. I may not be in love, but I am alive. That makes it a happy Valentine's Day. Unless they actually find some Gillywig to help us live underwater. No, then you have to deal with cross-breeding different species, and aren't humans complicated enough? Patience is...

Froanna's Page: July 2008
http://froannaspage.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 13, 2008. Laying in bed, I was thinking about the words of one of Jay And The Love Birds songs, "Break my heart for what breaks Yours." and a wave of thoughts came to me. I've heard those words many times before, and was like, 'Yeah God, do that! But I don't think I've ever really understood what that meant; maybe I still don't, but I kept thinking. One thought was: How can we break a heart if its already broken? If we give our hearts to God and ask Him to teach us not only how to guard them...

Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Survival With Minor Injuries. In total, four garbage bags, three boxes, and one bag of clothes were accumulated. I really don't know why I kept most of that stuff for so long! It was craziness or something. I did keep some things, and I'm sure the next time I go through everything, I'll wonder why I still have it. At least it's in a drawer, somewhat organized, therefore easier to dispose of if the mood strikes again. Which probably won't be for another year or so!

Froanna's Page: Making Lemonade
http://froannaspage.blogspot.com/2011/02/making-lemonade.html
Wednesday, February 09, 2011. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Or lemon meringue pie! I normally have the heat higher than the average person, but desperate times call for space heaters and extra layers of clothes. If I could be sick, but stay warm, I wouldn't mind as much. Of course, there's the whole being sick part that's not much fun either. My head is full of mucus-y pressure, my body is aching and I've got slippers, three shirts, a blanket wrapped around me and the electric fireplace ...

Froanna's Page: April 2008
http://froannaspage.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 17, 2008. That is what I've just had. An epiphany. A sudden realization for the first time of something extravagant. I was just reading a book by Gilbert Morris and a line struck a cord somewhere deep inside me. "Susanna Rocklin was a strong woman, but part of her strength was her compassionate heart.". This might all sound a bit jumbled, but you have to realize that I'm just now, at this very moment, figuring this all out. Took long enough, eh? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
