Sects and the City. One Rabbi's journey through life and learning. Rabbi Elizabeth S. Wood. Wednesday, November 7, 2012. A Mi Sheberach for me? Suddenly, everything became different. And before we knew it, my mother had to be admitted to the hospital because her blood numbers were so dangerously low. Her cough was too suspect. She couldn't eat, she couldn't breathe. It was not good. And our faith has helped sustain us as well: a visit from our Rabbi here in Indiana who offered words of prayer and comfort...

Sects and the City: March 2012

Sects and the City. One Rabbi's journey through life and learning. Rabbi Elizabeth S. Wood. Wednesday, March 28, 2012. 40 years of female Rabbis. When I was applying to Rabbinical school, right out of college, I remember having the following fears: maybe I'm too young, maybe I don't have enough experience, maybe I'm not what they're looking for. But never once did I say to myself: Maybe I won't get in because I am a female. At last week's CCAR (Central Conference of American Rabbis). Here is what I wrote:.

As for my household…. Posted by: Jami Rogers. On: February 29, 2012. Outside in our backyard one warm February morning, the boys entered into an adventures. They found a ladybug on the ground and sat staring at it and playing with it for ten to fifteen minutes (poor ladybug). Those of you with small kids know that fifteen minutes is like an eternity to a child. They were fascinated with how small it was, how it crawled, and how it looked. 2 Responses to "Brothers". http://sectsandcity.blogspot.com/2015/01/2-years.html
Sects and the City. One Rabbi's journey through life and learning. Rabbi Elizabeth S. Wood. Wednesday, January 7, 2015. My mother, Sharon, died two years ago, today. Why don't we dance anymore? I'm not okay with that. Why don't we laugh anymore? I'm not okay with that. The years go by. Like stones under rushing water. Yeah, the years go by. Like stones under rushing water. Sending you hugs and knowing that your mom will always embrace and inspire you. :) May her memory continue to be for a blessing.

Dear Mr. Moore | Rabbi Laura

Wonder, wisdom and whimsy from Rabbi Laura Novak Winer, RJE. Rabbi Laura’s Reading List. February 13, 2015 / Rabbi Laura. Dear Mr. Moore. Dear Mr. Moore,. When I heard the news this week that you want to ban yoga pants in public. I was outraged. I was not outraged because I love my yoga pants and wear them even when I’m not heading off to yoga. I was not outraged because such a law may single out and discriminate against women, while some rightly think it does. Example: Craig Hicks, a North Carolina bully.
