A funeral service can be held for a person who was not Christian if the family so request and the minister believes there are grounds for a Christian funeral ceremony. The order of the service. 8226; The funeral procession. Male relatives of the deceased normally act as pallbearers, with the closest relatives at the head of the coffin. The coffin is always carried foot-end first. If enough pallbearers cannot be found among the mourners, the funeral director can be requested to arrange bearers. Om den avlidne ska kistbegravas och begravningsgästerna följer kistan till graven är det bättre om blomsterhyllningen sker vid graven, förutsatt att vädret tillåter det. Att lägga ned blommor vid kistan är den sista möjligheten att ta farväl av den döda. Vid minnesstunden brukar den avlidnes fotografi, flankerat av brinnande ljus och blommor, finnas på ett bord som täckts med en vit bordduk.

Kremering i Malm och Furumo reserveras via Helsingfors kyrkliga samfällighets centralregister medan Krematoriestiftelsen svarar för kremeringarna i Sandudds krematorium.
