Furlough Farm - now Driftwood Farm: February 2010
http://furloughfarm.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Furlough Farm - now Driftwood Farm. Working toward a sustainable homestead lifestyle, one step at a time. Wednesday, February 10, 2010. We are happy to congratulate Neely and Jason on the birth of their first child, Jacoby Parker Hart. We were able to talk to Jason, and by all accounts, everyone is doing well. Neely's sister Julie is there and sent out an announcement via e-mail soon after. And we know Andrew will be a proud and wonderful godfather. Best wishes for a long, happy and healthy life, Jacoby!

Furlough Farm - now Driftwood Farm. Working toward a sustainable homestead lifestyle, one step at a time. Friday, June 4, 2010. Well, nobody likes to say "goodbye for now" to a good friend, but everyone's favorite Aussie, Andrew, is headed back down under. People came from miles around - as usual, Jason and Neely had the longest trip :) - to BBQ, eat, drink, and be merry. Somehow, the crazy late-season rain broke, and the sun stuck around all weekend! Awww, aren't the Hart family adorable? Granny Smith a...

Furlough Farm - now Driftwood Farm: Two types of dogs
http://furloughfarm.blogspot.com/2009/12/two-types-of-dogs.html
Furlough Farm - now Driftwood Farm. Working toward a sustainable homestead lifestyle, one step at a time. Monday, December 21, 2009. Two types of dogs. When previously looking up skunk spray removal remedies, I came across a saying. With regard to skunks, "there are two types of dogs: those that learn the first time, and those that never learn." Unfortunately for us, dear Sammy is a never-learner. The other night (on his evening walk with Matt) was his 3rd (or 4th? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Furlough Farm - now Driftwood Farm: Happy 2010

Furlough Farm - now Driftwood Farm. Working toward a sustainable homestead lifestyle, one step at a time. Friday, January 8, 2010. Our Christmas tree was a live, locally native shore pine, which will soon be part of the landscape.). Wow, time sure has flown! We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. After enduring an operating system upgrade - performed by me (a not-particularly-techy person) - our computer is up and running again. Here's what else we have been up to:. But there are more a...

http://billandvanessa.blogspot.com/2014/07/photo-day.html
Adventuring. Gardening. Loving. Learning. Saturday, July 05, 2014. Lana and I have challenged each other to take one picture a day. It has been five days, and we haven't screwed it up yet. Here is mine from today. We went for a motorcycle ride out to Langell Valley, and saw some amazing scenery. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Having the time of my life. View my complete profile. Lucky Me: November 2013
http://billandvanessa.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Adventuring. Gardening. Loving. Learning. Monday, November 18, 2013. A little bit if fall. The garden is broken down, the leaves are raked, it is getting dark at 4:30. Winter is now only a month away. I usually make posts like these asking where the time has gone, looking at all the fun things we have done to pass the time, but it hasn't been that kind of fall. The sun is still shining. We will soak it up. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Having the time of my life. View my complete profile.

Lana and the Dogs. Random pictures, thoughts, and rants. Random thoughts, pictures, and rants: Mainly from me, but maybe from the dogs if they figure out how to type. Monday, July 2, 2012. Good luck on the remodeling! It can be a lot of work, but will be so worth it! July 3, 2012 at 8:43 AM. July 7, 2012 at 12:10 AM. Picture Wi...
Lucky Me: January 2014
http://billandvanessa.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Adventuring. Gardening. Loving. Learning. Sunday, January 19, 2014. I love making pies. There are some foods that act more as therapy than sustenence for me, and when I am making those things I like to shut off my mind and just allow senses to take over. I know what the consistency of the dough should be. I know the thickness that cooks the best. I bought the following: one box of oven-safe turkey bags, and one pound of Lima beans. I stood in the bean aisle for a long time hand weighing the different...
Lucky Me: September 2013
http://billandvanessa.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Adventuring. Gardening. Loving. Learning. Friday, September 27, 2013. We are so lucky to live in a place where we feel part of the community and celebrate the small things. Tonight we are at our school's football game, cheering for our kids and watching our band. The only problem is that it is cold. I need to warm up my feet! Wednesday, September 25, 2013. It is supposed to freeze tonight. Sigh. Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Like that. See, in this area, once September hits, we have one month for a to...

The Chronicles of Skeeter and Moon: September 2009
http://skeetermoon.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
The Chronicles of Skeeter and Moon. Sunday, September 27, 2009. Overnight at Utica Lake. This was our first exploration of Utica, and it was incredible! There are numerous islands on the lake, some large and some small. We paddled to several and chose the one we felt had the best views and most privacy. There were several campsites on the island, and we found a cozy one on the northeast side. We ended up having the entire island to ourselves! Just pulled into camp. Paddling back to camp. Mama Bear chased...

The Chronicles of Skeeter and Moon. Sunday, November 29, 2009. Yes, it's true we are a little preoccupied with baby business of late. Lana and the Dogs: August 2010

Lana and the Dogs. Random pictures, thoughts, and rants. Random thoughts, pictures, and rants: Mainly from me, but maybe from the dogs if they figure out how to type. Tuesday, August 24, 2010. When we pulled the beets off the heat and doused them with cold water, then the fun began. I figured we would have to peel the beets with a paring knife. Oh no! The very cool thing that happens to cooked beets (and maybe other root vegetables for all I know) is that the skin just slips right off of them! Here is Mu...

Furloughed Industries LLC
I’m very pleased to announce the launch of Furloughed Industries LLC. The idea/concept of Furloughed Industries was born in the weeks after the 9/11 attacks, as I found myself furloughed (laid off) from American Airlines and very suddenly jobless, broke and moving back in with my parents. What will be the next venture for Furloughed Industries? Keep watching and find out! This site hosted by Media412, of Tulsa OK. I have a one-word motto for my life and my work:. Furloughed Time
Thursday, March 17, 2016. Who isn’t a sucker for a cute kid, right? Well, when that kid happens to be yours it is simply impossible to be effective at discipline. I just can’t say “no” to this kid. I know he shouldn’t have brownies at 8am or watch a fifth movie in a row but when this guy shoots his beautiful hazel eyes at me, I.just.can’t.say.no. Just a hint of a fake tear and I fall for it every single time. Traditional Birthday Breakfast Pancakes. That's a pile as big as him! He’s my baby. When I asked...
