It's the parents' fault, you know. Coddling them. Telling them how smart they are. Wiping their behinds for them. It's despicable. I won't play that game. Instead I make my kids tell me how awesome I am. In fact, I'll do almost anything for Edie just to hear her tell me, "Good job, Daddy.". Did I do a good job?

I have no idea where it came from, only that one night a couple of weeks ago, Edie announced at dinner that there was a rhino and it was making her "freak out". And when she said "freak out", she totally freaked out, opening her eyes up wide and throwing her hands in the air. This was a surprise. We were not aware that we had a rhino, but it seemed serious.
