I work two part-time jobs and every time I'm at one job I get rotten news. Maybe its superstitious but I've decided not to go to work on Friday following the scan. Can't hurt - might help. Because infertility can feel a lot like futility. Tuesday, November 13, 2007. I Survived the Trigger. I'm getting a T-shirt made. After much drama, Mr B administered my trigger last night at 11pm. It's the countdown to egg retrieval. This is when it gets tough. The latest scans look ok I think, with about 10 big follies and a whole lot smaller who may be big enough on EPU tomorrow. My E2 levels are high but perfect. Things flip don't they. IVF : An Exercise in Futility? This is great info to know.

Given the complete balls-up of our first cycle I'm really not optimistic about our second. Already, I've encountered the wonderful hell of double-speak with our favourite FN. Fertility Nurse : Your estrogen levels are perfect and low. Me : Low and perfect. Is that good? Fertility Nurse : They're low. Me : Right. Is that a good thing? I'm 29 and don't yet quality for China (joy).

The Stoning of Soraya M. או "סקילתה של סוראיה M" בעברית. בארץ לא כל כך אוהבים לקורא לו כך ומעדיפים רק סוראיה M, כי סקילה זו מילה קצת קשה מדי בשבילנו. וכך גם הסרט, קשה, קשה מאוד, לצפייה, לעיכול, להבנה. בכמה מילים (ואין מה להרחיב יותר מדי כי על הסרט, תמצאו גם במקומות אחרים תקציר, וגם יותר טוב מכאן, זה בטוח*). שהייתה מועמדת לאוסקר על הסרט הזה.
