The Journey of a Future Teacher. Monthly Archives: October 2013. Be The Author Of Your Own Life. Just like all authors, in order for each of us to write our happy endings, we have to do research. All of the contents of a book don’t just come pouring out and, bam! As teachers it is important to have goals. These are just a few of the many goals I have swirling around in my head, but I think it is good to try just focusing on a few for now and hopefully watch my growth. Wish me luck! 8221; The technologica...

The Rocky Road Of Change. The road is long, but in the end the journey is the destination…. Part of this assignment was to set a goal of change at the end of the first week. I wanted to start back in my gym routine. The first night I ended up just taking my dog on a long walk but then went to the gym the next three days! The Classroom Discussion in my Head. Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Yesterday my cohort had the opportunity for environmental studies professional development through a Project Learning Tree. Workshop. It was a great, eye-opening experience into both environmental issues and incredible ways in which to incorporate environmental sudies into all school subjects. Although I still plan on teaching middle school math once I'm done with this program, I'm looking forward to using the resource book I bought at the...

Understanding What You Read | Learning to Teach

https://cbnickerson.wordpress.com/2014/02/02/understanding-what-you-read/comment-page-1

Understanding What You Read. No one really does that any more. I believe the point the authors are making is that students need to know how to research for information that is outside of what they can define by their own knowledge or context clues, but does it have to be a dictionary? Aren’t newer, and more tech derived, research processes more reflective of how students will really research information in their lives outside of school? Thoughts and Ramblings of a Future Educator. Let’s talk about math! And then there was silence… →. We need to have a talk…. February 23, 2014. Thoughts and Ramblings of a Future Educator. This week in our math class, we were encouraged to draft a letter to parents explaining the new unit we would be teaching their students. Final Reflection | Learning to Teach

https://cbnickerson.wordpress.com/2014/03/16/final-reflection

As this quarter progressed, I was able to look deeper into my practice a teacher, using specific student examples and experiences from my classroom. As a blogger in past quarters I didn’t have the opportunity or the context to relate what I was learning in my method course work with real examples. This quarter has given me more context and more time with real students as I develop my pedagogy. How does it work? Leading Reading Groups – Inferences. One thought on “ Final Reflection.
