We're not lolita.' say the hime gyaru. Feb 5th, 2009 at 9:23 PM. Hime gyaru, hime kei, princess style, a relatively new trend in J-fashion. Some claim that the style spawned off Sofia Coppola's movie 'Marie Antoinette', or, more likely, the costumes in that movie. Although they share some lace, ribbons and bows, you cannot truly say that the costumes in the movie and on Meiji Street are that much alike. I would not say that without some pictures to show what I mean. The style has also a magazine, 'koakum...

http://hime-handbook.livejournal.com/1986.html
November 12th, 2007 (12:21 pm). I know I've already posted info on what Himegyaru is, which we all know by now is princess style, and looking like a princess. Hime hair - Hime Handbook
http://hime-handbook.livejournal.com/1016.html
October 31st, 2007 (01:24 am). These tutorials are from the lovely Jesus Diamante ladies' diaries. If you can't read the pink text on that one, it says for each step:. 1) Hair should be half damp. 2) Curl top with four curlers, then curl the left, right, and back with curlers. Let set while doing makeup. 3) Do the next four. 4) Wrap in a turban for 20 minutes. Keep top curlers in longer because you want volume. 5) Tease (backcomb) the hair under the showing curls and spray volume spray on your roots.
