Gal in the Middle: Grandma's Bread Pudding
http://www.galinthemiddle.com/2011/12/grandmas-bread-pudding.html
Wednesday, December 14, 2011. I'm excited to be competing in A Latte With Ott, A's Iron Chef Challenge Bake-Off sponsored by Taste of Home. I'm competing against the other winners of previous Iron Chef Challenge's over on her blog. We were asked to create something new using Taste of Home's Cinnamon Raisin Bread recipe. Here's the final product. Yummy! First I took a loaf of the Cinnamon Raisin Bread that I had baked earlier in the week. And cut it up into bite-sized pieces. December 15, 2011 at 6:36 AM.
Gal in the Middle: Mint Chocolate Bread Pudding
http://www.galinthemiddle.com/2015/03/mint-chocolate-bread-pudding.html
Sunday, March 29, 2015. Mint Chocolate Bread Pudding. When life (or a local grocery store) sells you a loaf of stale french bread, make bread pudding. Or better yet, Mint Chocolate Bread Pudding! I'm a big believer that mint is not just a Christmas or Valentine's Day flavor. I love it ALL YEAR LONG. And the addition of mint chocolate chips to this recipe was a hit. I adapted my grandma's bread pudding recipe. To make my version this weekend. Mint Chocolate Bread Pudding. 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa. Bake f...

Gal in the Middle: Conquering the Winter Blues
http://www.galinthemiddle.com/2014/11/conquering-winter-blues.html
Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Conquering the Winter Blues. Every year the same thing happens. As the days get shorter, I go through a 2-3 week funk that I can't seem to shake. Dark at 6:30 pm and the shortest day is still 5 weeks away. I can't make myself get out of bed in the morning. I can barely keep my eyes open past 9 pm That's not me. I'm the person who is up at 5 am every morning after going to bed at 11 pm. I'm sure all of this has to do with the seasons changing and the time change but it's so h...

Corn Fields and Tractor Wheels. Monday, January 13, 2014. Let the Family Fun Begin! What a difference a week makes in the winter time! Last week it was 40 below zero, and this week it is 50 above zero. Yesterday was such a beautiful day that we just had to take advantage of it. We have one of the heifers signed up for her first show in a couple of weeks so we thought it would be a perfect day to work with her. Our family is very excited to start show season. We have met so many great people showing c...

SIG...nature Notes: How does my garden grow?
http://signaturenotes.blogspot.com/2011/06/how-does-my-garden-grow.html
Monday, June 27, 2011. How does my garden grow? Remember the old English nursery rhyme. Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary How does your garden grow? With silver bells, and cockle shells ? My garden here at the farm is a flower garden. It flourishs with lots of love, a dash of luck, warm sunshine, and the necessary rain. My favorite flowers are ones that attract butterflies and hummingbirds, so I've filled the landscape with perennials to meet that goal. Had silver bells. I have a. Are having a give-a-way on the...
From Mess Hall to Bistro: February 2014
http://messhalltobistro.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 28, 2014. I was trying to come up with a title for this post, but every time I typed something related to freezing eggs, I just knew that most people that search for "freezing eggs" would be looking for something quite different! So just in case there's any confusion, this post is about chicken eggs. The first thing to do is to separate the eggs. These small containers are the perfect size. To thaw the eggs, I put them in the refrigerator over night (when I actually thought ahead! I let ...

http://butterfliesgourdsandmore.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 8, 2015. Goldfinch sometimes called wild canary is a female or male in winter outfit. Happy New Year so far so good I know it is cold but remember the snow from the last couple of years was no fun. It is dry or sort of the ground is hard and no mud except in certain areas where the cattle keep it stirred up. I have been going out with my 2 little dogs and they enjoy the snow at night is the quietest the wind is calm and it seems warmer. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Wife of a Dairyman.

Gal in the Country -Gal in the Country
Tips & Tricks. Cleaning & Organization. I want to say spring has sprung, but alas, there is snow on the ground again. March 16 in Southern Illinois- more snow, and 20 degrees. Wow! I have to admit, though, we have had some beautiful days in between, like yesterday- sunny and 65 degrees. I’ll take that. That way, we have full control over the entire operation and it makes it easier to be attentive to the plants and aware of their needs. It feels like the plants have. That’s where I draw the line! So, here...

Friday, July 3, 2015. Small Cars, Big Fun in Indianapolis. It's raining today. Again. This summer has been slightly on the wet side. It's not ideal weather for summer vacation when you have kids cooped up in the house. Why not take advantage of a rainy morning (or afternoon) and head to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis? Recently, I took my niece and nephew to check out the opening of the Hot Wheels: Race to Win exhibit. We had a great time. Testing our skills as a pit crew. Sunday, March 29, 2015.
