Garden in Paradise: February 2012
http://gardeninparadise.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
My tropical garden space in SE Florida Coastal Zone 10. Tuesday, February 28, 2012. One of my favorite things to do is walk about my garden first thing in the mornng. I love to see what surprises await me in the garden; what is new in bloom; what wildlife I might see; the dew on the spiderwebs. This is what I found this morning. This bloom(s) of the Oyster Plant, Moses in a Basket,. Or officially Tradescantia spathacea. This bright red Bromeliad. Bloom looks like a candle flame! My very young Kent mango.
Garden in Paradise: March 2013

My tropical garden space in SE Florida Coastal Zone 10. Saturday, March 30, 2013. Should I Mow the Weeds? Unless you irrigate, there's not much to mow in South Florida during the winter/spring dry season. The dust swirls around the mower like a miniature sandstorm in the desert! But then, there's the weeds that pop up loud and proud in the middle of my otherwise dry flat landscape. Should I mow them? Should I pull them? I don't use weed killer or weed/feed products). Contrary to it's name, it does not re...
Garden in Paradise: July 2012
http://gardeninparadise.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
My tropical garden space in SE Florida Coastal Zone 10. Sunday, July 29, 2012. A Collection of Macros. Of course I have no time to publish those works of pure genius,. But at least I can display the photos of the objects that inspired me so. Bloom is nothing less than spectacular! The colors and complexity are intoxicating. Another favorite is the Madagascar Palm,. I love it because it is so confused.it can't decide. Whether it's a palm or a cactus! This pink version of the commonly purple Ruellia. Is on...

My tropical garden space in SE Florida Coastal Zone 10. Monday, May 28, 2012. Although I am blessed with blooms and green foliage all year in South Florida,. The early rains this year have brought on some fabulous blooms! I have several Frangipani in my yard, all young starters. This one bloomed for the first time and is spectacular! The bromeliads are in bloom. The blooms are easily missed. They're like little gardens inside a garden! The Hibiscus are also in bloom. They're popping up beautifully! This ...
Garden in Paradise: October 2012

My tropical garden space in SE Florida Coastal Zone 10. Thursday, October 18, 2012. Fall in South Florida. Magnificent Croton display amazing fall color all year long. The many patterns and colors add great interest! Fall is the time of year when my dwarf Poinciana bloom. One of the most beautiful blooms in the world. In fall's orange/red and yellow flaming colors! Bromeliads are glorious throughout the year. However, this one is usually shaded by palms during the summer. Nothing less than spectacular!

First Heliconia bloom of the season. Hoya bouquets gracefully sway in the breeze from their vines. Native Porterweed has small blooms that pack a powerful punch,. Especially in mass plantings. Another native, Necklacepod, grows into a large shrub or small tree. This one is new to my landscape. This one rests high in the palms.
