Garden Railway Club

The Garden Railway Club is a website jointly developed by a group of like-minded garden railway enthusiasts. What brings us together is the pleasure of creating, developing and running our own little railway, in a quiet relaxing sort of way. We enjoy other garden railways which may be quite different from our own. The choice of railway era, prototype (if any), scale, gauge, power source, accuracy (or lack), company, or location do not concern us, though we do enjoy it when a railway has its own unif

The Elly James & Keith Light Railway: December 2015

http://ejklr.blogspot.com/2015_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, 31 December 2015. A new era on the EJ&KLR. As 2015 draws to a close, and the original line in Cheshire awaits lifting I'm reflecting on my garden railway journey and what the future holds for the EJ&KLR? The line has matured wonderfully, shown here in May 2015. My late father, playing with the original starter set. The line looked very bare when first built, this is from. The Elly James & Keith Light Railway: Track lifting...

http://ejklr.blogspot.com/2016/04/track-lifting.html

Monday, 25 April 2016. Sunday marked the end of the EJ&KLR in its initial form as the layout was lifted (in less than an hour) from Mum's garden. A real family effort as both kids were helping - of course we had to run some trains first. The last train is a reincarnation of the first train, which was my Liliput diesel which formed the basis of my O&K conversion. Here are a few of the last trains. Scribbled by James H. The Elly James & Keith Light Railway: April 2015

http://ejklr.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Monday, 13 April 2015. Scribbled by James H. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Welcome to the EJ&KLR, the story of a G scale LGB based garden railway project, largely inspired by the narrow gauge lines across Austria. The Elly, James and Keith Light Railway was started in December 2010 after 20 years of dreaming of trains in the outdoors. Narrow gauge diesel comparison. As the Blauturm (www.blauturm.de) kit for the L45H/Lxd2 nears completion Ive pondered if Ill ever do another big diesel. Whilst re. St Andrew'...

Hillhead and Dales Light Railway. Saturday, June 27, 2015. A busy day on the H&DLR. The weather hasn't been that great this summer (yet! http://hillheaddaleslightrailway.blogspot.com/2014/03/spring-on-h.html

Hillhead and Dales Light Railway. Sunday, March 09, 2014. Spring on the H&DLR. At the little halt of Holzapfel, the buildings have been spruced up for the new season, and a telephone installed for the convenience of the driver when shunting. Spring has arrived, and with it a stack of maintenance jobs. The warning sign approaching Dottendorf has been bolted rather than glued, and has been re-installed. The old lean-to at Birkenhof has fallen apart (again) and so has been removed. The G Scale Society.

Hillhead & Dales Light Railway: Rebuilding Dottendorf station

http://hillheaddaleslightrailway.blogspot.com/2015/08/rebuilding-dottendorf-station.html

Hillhead and Dales Light Railway. Saturday, August 08, 2015. The line between the shed and Dottendorf station runs round a whitebeam tree. The trunk has grown, seemingly exponentially, since the track was first laid. Three years ago, a minor realignment avoided the need for a major rebuild. However, that day has now arrived, so there was nothing for it but to close the line and lift the track through the station. Welcome to the H&DLR blog. The idea is to share developments on the H&DLR as they happen...
