We would recommend joining the D338 (Route nationale) heading south to Le Mans. Although it takes a little longer it is a more interesting drive/ride, crossing the Sarthe river a number of times, and you avoid the tolls! On the way back the French line the route to watch you pass - an experience not to be missed.
