Trains Are Awesome: The Boondoggle Chorus
http://trainsareawesome.blogspot.com/2008/11/boondoggle-chorus.html
Monday, November 10, 2008. 1 work of little or no value done merely to look busy. I was planning to take a break from posting here for a bit, but I felt I had to address this matter. The opponents of High-Speed Rail have not taken a break from trying to undermine. The CA High-Speed rail project just because Prop 1A passed. Like clock work they show up on any internet story relating to the project now as they did before the election, and rehash the same tired and debunked. In addition to prop 1A, Californ...

Thoughts on biking the city. A map for all of us. Newer posts →. Lots of reasons for all of this not-writing-ness: The rain, then the 920, then the fact that my brakes are wearing down and that worries me, the fact that my wheels need truing, and the inconvenient fact of school. I’d say more soon, but I’ve a little time before I should lift my head from my desk. Safe riding to everybody, and looking forward to reading more soon. A break in the clouds. What am I talking about? That just went up in the.

In the city of angels, we play devil’s advocate. The 2009 LA Auto Show: Shocking New Cars. December 9, 2009. Winter’s here, and with it comes torrential rains, mudslides, and temperatures in the 30s – frigid by LA standards. But there’s also something to look forward to when the beginning of winter rolls around, even for bike/transit boosters like me: the Los Angeles Auto Show. A quick look at the display for the European-made Smart Car. 8221; Silly Europeans, this is America! Next up was a significantly...

In the city of angels, we play devil’s advocate. Rotten To The Corps. September 4, 2010. Last week saw the five year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. And the coinciding one day release of. A film about said hurricane and its aftermath in New Orleans. It is a loving tribute to the city by “part time New Orleans resident” (and part time voice of Seymour Skinner) Harry Shearer. It is also a potent critique of the United States Army Corps of Engineers. The Corps’s improper construction of levees. Has yet to...

Thoughts on biking the city. A map for all of us. This is my usual route home. Vermont/Beverly to Griffith Observatory. Two months in our place and this is the first I’ve been. Beautiful ride up there – Vermont has a little bit of traffic north of Franklin, but nothing like it sees south of Sunset. Once you cross Los Feliz Blvd., it’s shaded with ample room on the shoulder. Really spectacular on a bike. 2 responses to “ my favorite rides. Pingback: knowing the roads « los angeles rides. Seen from the bus.
