Dexter Mejia: June 2013 Renovations
http://dextermejia.blogspot.com/2013/06/june-2013-renovations.html
Thursday, June 27, 2013. The house that we bought was really plain inside. It had blue walls and raw skirting boards. It did not reflect our personalities at all. We have been spending the past few months staining and varnishing the skirting boards, painting the walls and buying some furniture. We wanted the interiors to be modern and neutral-coloured so we went for a warm grey paint and black furniture. We also added some red highlights on the furniture. Of course, there are more photos to come.

Dexter Mejia: April 2013
http://dextermejia.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 14, 2013. Thank goodness he is gay. My partner is so butch that girls hit on him. He feels very uncomfortable when that happens. And he only has to blame himself because he is charming with his deep voice and country accent. His hairy arms are also riddled with notes that he has to remember. He does not wear fancy perfume or put hair and face products. He is just one rough guy. Thank God I am not sleeping with a straight man! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Gay, Fun and Sober.

Dexter Mejia: February 2013
http://dextermejia.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 23, 2013. Chinese New Year 2013 in Adelaide. It was the Chinese New Year a few weeks ago so a Chinese friend invited us to the city and the enjoy the festivities. There were tons of people on the streets and food stalls. There were also long queues for food so it took us a long time to fill our bellies. It makes me wonder also if I can ever be prepared to be a parent myself. I do not know the answer yet. Links to this post. Location: Adelaide SA, Australia. Thursday, February 14, 2013.

Dexter Mejia: Making a home
http://dextermejia.blogspot.com/2013/05/making-home.html
Sunday, May 5, 2013. Steven and I have been very busy repairing our 1910 home. If we are not working, we are working on the house. And when it is time to go to bed, it does not take long for us to fall asleep. The bare skirting boards, window frames, door frames and doors are now varnished. We were so excited to do this until I got sick of the scent. I would rather clean the toilet than apply varnish. The photo here shows what I miss the most in Thailand- a gadget to have a very clean asshole.

Dexter Mejia: Lost Dog-Lovers part 2
http://dextermejia.blogspot.com/2013/05/lost-dog-lovers-part-2.html
Monday, May 6, 2013. Lost Dog-Lovers part 2. I never thought that there would be a sequel to this post. Jet visited us two years ago when we were still living in a unit. The owner was living on the next block back then. I did not know that Jet's family moved to the same street recently so I was pleasantly surprised to see him (lost) again. I guess we will see him more often now. But I am not sure if it will be a border collie. Y un video de imagenes del Border Collie. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Dexter Mejia: Australian Media Quantifies the Importance of Human Lives
http://dextermejia.blogspot.com/2013/06/australian-media-quantifies-importance.html
Saturday, June 1, 2013. Australian Media Quantifies the Importance of Human Lives. Institutional racism exists in Australia. Anyone who denies that must be living on another planet. But it still hurts when you see it directed towards you or your people. Last year, a Caucasian woman (originally from the UK) Jill Meagher was raped and murdered. It was horrible and we saw CCTV footages and her photos. We also heard her promising life here in Australia. All of these lasted several weeks. I know that there is...

Dexter Mejia: January 2013
http://dextermejia.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Here is a photo I took while my father was in my mind. It was taken at Changi Airport's butterfly exhibit. It brightened my mood and helped me escape from the dread of seeing the lifeless body of my father. I am sure my mood will pick up eventually but right now, I hope it is normal to still feel the loss. Links to this post. Location: Changi International Airport (SIN), Singapore. Dexter Mejia: March 2013
http://dextermejia.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 28, 2013. House of our own. I have lived in three cities. In Manila, I grew up in a small block of land with relatives surrounding me. In Bangkok, I stayed in a tiny apartment in the middle of the red light district. In Adelaide, I spent my "formative" years in a two-bedroom unit with my partner. And now, it is all different. Amidst this excitement, I can only think of two people- my mother and my fath. Er who passed away recently. I am sure he would have been proud. Links to this post.
