Tanzania Part V – Serengeti National Park. September 24, 2015. Throughout our trip I have been desperate to see a lion up, close and personal. I refused to take a photo of a lion if I needed my big lens. I would also settle for an in-your-face roar that resonates in your stomach. A fence between us would be nice, but as long as the lion is not hungry, that’s not so important Continue reading →. Kenya Part I – Maasai Mara. September 16, 2015. 1 August 2015 5 August 2015. We are a family with a dream to travel in Africa. There are five of us:. Hugo, the man behind the wheel and a guy with nerves of steel, it takes guts to take a whole year off work to travel the unknown. Dorette, the navigator, cook, tent pitcher (okay, not just me, might have some help from the muscle man above and the two monkeys below), teacher and blogger ( I hate that word though, sounds like boogers, let’s call me an author…). Namibia Part VI – Twyfelfontein and Damara Living Museum. March 28, 2015. We arrived at Twyfelfontein late in the afternoon looking for a place to stay. Near the engravings is a beautiful lodge, but there are tour buses everywhere and we knew even before we asked that they would be fully booked. So we went to the second nearest place we saw, Aba Huab Rest Camp. What a horrible place at terribly high prices! Malawi Part I – Chitemba and Makuzi Beach. Tanzania Part VIII – The last few days….

Newer posts →. Rwanda Part III – The last three days. September 13, 2015. After a pleasant enough stay at the Kinigi Guest House we set off for Lake Kivu on Saturday 25 July. Running along the Congolese border for 90km, the 2,370km Lake Kivu is one of a string of ‘inland seas’ that submerge much of the Albertine Rift floor as it runs southward from the Sudan to Zambia. Namibia Part VIII Caprivi Strip. July 3, 2015. Ngepi is not very far from Drotsky’s (only 57 km), and the border crossing was completely painless.
