On Today's Episode...: Warming Up to Avatar: The Last Airbender
http://rhandley.blogspot.com/2011/01/warming-up-to-avatar-last-airbender.html
Thursday, January 13, 2011. Warming Up to Avatar: The Last Airbender. Episode 1: "The Boy in the Iceberg". Writers: Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. It would be difficult, with a son soon turning nine, not to be aware of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Joshua has been re-watching the entire series repeatedly for the past couple of years, and has often asked me to watch it with him. Being a nice dad, I kept finding ways to avoid having to do so without hurting his feelings. I began finding myself...

AlwaySingin: November 2006
http://alwaysingin.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 13, 2006. I made a mistake, a HUGE mistake, that I will be paying for, literally, for years. A couple of months ago, I was gathering information on line about various credit recovery programs. One website (Credit Solutions) asked for contact information and stated that someone would be contacting me. That was it. There was no other information to obtain from the site and nothing else they wanted from me. I submitted my number. That was the mistake. I assumed. Here I am, now 3 months late...

AlwaySingin: January 2007
http://alwaysingin.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 31, 2007. What did the razor heads do to you? Have you tried to buy replacement razor heads lately? I've been trying to buy them for probably 2 months now. I kept on thinking that I wasn't looking hard enough for them or that they were always sold out when I got to the store. I only want the 4 pack because these things are really friggin' expensive! Usually around $8 or $9 for the 4 pack. SHEESH! I'd go back to disposables, but I can't take the knicks. I went to the supermarket. I ...

AlwaySingin: January 2011

Tuesday, January 18, 2011. I'm American, too! Let me set it up for you. Now, I've heard these sorts of comments before. That those of us that live in and around NYC or in and around LA (for some reason other major cities, like Chicago, are never included) are somehow less American; less patriotic. What gives these people the right to say that? What makes them think that we are less concerned about this country, are less invested in its success, in its ideals, dreams, values? I thought we were all strivin...

http://rhandley.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Fear not, all four or five readers of this blog, for I have not abandoned it after only three entries. I simply didn't have time this past week to watch the shows I was writing about. However, I will be returning to the blogosphere tomorrow. Thanks for your patience! Links to this post. Labels: Blogging about blogging. Friday, January 14, 2011. Avatar: The Last Airbender, Episode 2: "The Avatar Returns". Writers: Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. The villagers, Sok...

On Today's Episode...: Don't Touch That Remote... er, Mouse!
http://rhandley.blogspot.com/2010/12/dont-touch-that-remote-er-mouse.html
Tuesday, December 21, 2010. Don't Touch That Remote. er, Mouse! I'm an avid TV viewer, but I'm also very particular about what I choose to watch. Very rarely do I flop down in front of the television and channel-surf, or just watch whatever's on the tube at that moment. I don't read TV Guide. And I don't check online listings. In fact, I've all but cut live television out of my life, in that there is only a single series currently on the air that I watch—AMC's The Walking Dead. So what do I watch? And as...

AlwaySingin: March 2011
http://alwaysingin.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 27, 2011. I apologize in advance if this becomes a bit scattered in focus, but I am a bit scattered in my own focus as I write it. I am filled with two, seemingly separate trains of thought that were both inspired by the same thing. Now you get to be the rider of those trains. Straddle them carefully. I don't want anyone to get hurt. Oh yeah and I also went to college for music and theater, earning a degree in each. The point of all that? Vik Muniz composes images out of objects. Here's...

Wednesday, November 17, 2010. The Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner. And why is this so terrible? Who the HELL did the turkeys piss off to get THAT gig? Seriously, when it came time for the powers-that-be to negotiate holiday contracts with various bidders, who exactly represented the turkey population? Because, you ...
