Kerrie Maloney: Chocolate and Orange Truffle Slice
http://kerriemaloney.blogspot.com/2015/08/chocolate-and-orange-truffle-slice.html
Thursday, 13 August 2015. Chocolate and Orange Truffle Slice. I like to play around with a recipe, developing new ideas or adapting the ingredients to a new flavour or from a biscuit to a slice or cake. Some times things work out better than others and sometimes you can save a flop by making it into something else. You can read about saving a previous disaster here. The resulting Chocolate and Orange Truffle Slice had a delicious orange flavour from the addition of the mixed peel and liquer. Dark cho...

Kerrie Maloney: Here Kitty, Kitty - 2. Cats I've Made
http://kerriemaloney.blogspot.com/2015/08/here-kitty-kitty-2-cats-i-made.html
Sunday, 9 August 2015. Here Kitty, Kitty - 2. Cats I've Made. I like to make cloth dolls and toys. Sometimes I make them as cats. Felix, the cat, the wonderful, wonderful cat. The body is black felt, the face appliquéd and embroidered. This plush cat sits in my sewing room and is often stuffed with pins. I have made a few of these as gifts for fellow cat lovers. Crewel Cat, embroidered in crewel wools, the back is black velvet, designed as a door stop but sits on a bookshelf in the sewing room. Balmy sum...

Kerrie Maloney: Snuggle Quilt
http://kerriemaloney.blogspot.com/2015/08/snuggle-quilt.html
Monday, 10 August 2015. Another one has gone. So glad to have found someone for this quilt that has been sitting in a cupboard for years. The new owner loves bright colours and bold prints and as it is a generous sized lap quilt it will be perfect for snuggling under on the couch. The quilted stars are worked in whipped running stitch using DMC perle thread. Each star was drawn freehand onto the quilt and then stitched, stars are various sizes and arranged to fit around each other. Letting in the Light.

Kerrie Maloney: Walnut Cream Sponge
http://kerriemaloney.blogspot.com/2015/08/walnut-cream-sponge.html
Saturday, 15 August 2015. Walnut cream sponge with maple syrup, not too sweet, not too filling and just the thing after a big day. I like a good balance of cream to cake. This is a single layer split in half. The cream is whipped, no sugar and a splash of vanilla. The cream has chopped walnuts mixed through it and is then used as a filling and topping for the sponge, more chopped walnuts sprinkled on top. Pour the maple syrup over each wedge as it was served. Kerrie Maloney: Bespoke Long Socks
http://kerriemaloney.blogspot.com/2015/08/bespoke-long-socks.html
Friday, 7 August 2015. It seems that just about everyone in my knitting group knits socks but me. Recently I wore these hand knitted beauties to knitting - with a skirt and ankle boots so that they could be fully admired. They are warm, comfortable and because they have been knitted for me are the right length and the top fits my leg measurement perfectly. The joy of the bespoke sock!
