F and G Duncan. Saturday, 1 November 2008. I went all the way to Europe for this. Well to hang out Gareth and have a honeymoon but also for Massaccios Trinity. On our day tour to Florence we ran down to the Santa Maria Novella in our spare time so I could see it. Sadly they didn't allow pictures so this is from the internet, it's a lot more pink than this. It is just beautiful, I wanted to cry. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Medusas looking badarse because thats what Medus.

F & G Duncan: Accademia Gallery in Florence
http://fgduncan.blogspot.com/2008/11/accademia-gallery-in-florence.html
F and G Duncan. Saturday, 1 November 2008. Accademia Gallery in Florence. The main attraction was the actual David - a lot bigger than you would expect. Leading up to it is the gallery of Michaelangelo's Prisoners, unfinished sculptures that seem to be emerging from the stone. There was also a whole room full of plaster casts and another room with a lot of Medieval images from churches like this one:. These images are very stylised, overdecorated and often contain gold leaf (like in the halo here).

F & G Duncan: Random alleyways
http://fgduncan.blogspot.com/2008/11/random-alleyways.html
F and G Duncan. Tuesday, 4 November 2008. All of the places we saw were a lot dirtier than New Zealand but then they have odd things like this which I can only describe as a shrine halfway up a wall in an alleyway. And this pieta in an even smaller alley in Florence (I did see another pieta in the Santa Maria Novella). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Medusas looking badarse because thats what Medus. So this is the coat that Gareth wanted to wear to the wedding, just so everyone gets a look at it. Pretty huh? It arrived the day after the wedding.

F and G Duncan. Friday, 8 February 2008. This is the main photo that our wonderful photographer Lily chose. She is linked just over there - - ). She did an amazing job, even finding a red album and black box for the photos. The photo is washed out or toned down whatever the term is. This was in the middle of the handfasting part of the ceremony, our left hands on each others hearts. Friday, 1 February 2008. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). F & G Duncan: November 2008
http://fgduncan.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
F and G Duncan. Monday, 17 November 2008. So it appears I am not very good at updating. We went to the Red Riding Hood pantomime with Brenda and Bill (after dinner at Nicolini's - better than the food in Italy! It was the same gang who did Aladdin and Jack and the Beanstalk which we also saw. Oh and I went to Auckland and hung out with Ant for a night, hopefully this will become a regular event. I've done all my Christmas shopping, looking forward to spending lots of time with family. There was also a wh...
