I bought a sheep…sort of – Project Awesome
http://joan-of-locks.com/2014/08/i-bought-a-sheep-sort-of
A repository of sorts. I bought a sheep…sort of. Yes, I went to the Twist Fibre Festival. In Saint-André-Avellin last weekend. It may seem strange but this was actually my first time at such an event. Maybe that’s weird considering how relatively close Montreal is to some of the major ones? I never really had much of a desire to go, and in the past few years, it been out of my holiday budget. We got to the festival around lunch time on Sunday. The festival was indoors, inside the community’s ho...In Nico...

Natural Dyeing, Spinning, Weaving, Other Fibre Arts, Gardening, Cooking, Costuming, and. Friday, 31 October 2014. Today`s treat comes from the 1845 edition of The Economical Housekeeper, by Mrs. E.A. Howland. Boil a tea-cupful of molasses, and add two spoonfuls of butter, one spoonful of ginger, and one tea-spoonful of saleratus, stir the flour in when it is hot, roll it thin, cut into rounds. Bake quick. So 1/2 cup or 4 oz molasses. 1 tsp baking soda. 1 1/2 cups flour. The cookie dough is definitely not...

Wine, Wool and Whoppers. The stories and adventures of Creativehands. Sunday, March 10, 2013. So this is how it goes. Well we're just gonna let the text land where it may! Here is my first days worth of spinning hanging and drying after its post ply bath. I'm quite happy with the colour progression; it's not perfect.but who is? In Yarn Veritas: Begin as you mean to go on
http://inyarnveritas.blogspot.com/2015/01/begin-as-you-mean-to-go-on.html
Friday, January 02, 2015. Begin as you mean to go on. I imagine that this is the point where I say that I intend to make 2015 the year I blog regularly! Of course that's what I intend to do but in all honesty - I might or I might not. You see, the one thing I can say about 2015 is that I intend to spend less time fretting about what I should be doing and more time getting on with it. Blogging will happen.or not as things unfold. I got a new spinning wheel - that does deserve its own post and I adore it&#...

Friday, June 07, 2013. The other thing we did was shop. Dad was very generous in taking me to my favourite fibre haunts. The first stop was to see Jane Stafford. In Nanaimo at Ewe Knit, I bought a skein of Shepherd Sock by Lorna's Laces. This is a beautiful tonal yarn in greens called Skyway. I keep thinking it's called "Skyfall" instead so I think I'll rename it. It's somewhat manly so I'm hoping to make a pair of socks for dad (shhhhhh). Yarn exporter in Pakistan. Sunday, June 02, 2013. I'm a bad,bad blogger.but then you knew that already. Life continues to roll at warp speed. I fall down the rabbit hole at regular intervals. I work - long hours and have a busy family life. My fibrey pursuits often take a back seat to duty (sigh). Blissfully alone with the sunshine, my latte and my knitting. Life's good.
