Life Casting – Gemma McGuinness

It is usually conducted by first using alginate on the skin, followed by a plaster outer layer; this body part is then casted in plaster and removed from the mould when dry. Bits and Pieces →. 2014- Green Sea Turtle – Gemma McGuinness

Modelmaker, Designer and Artist. 2014- Green Sea Turtle. This slideshow requires JavaScript. I chose the materials carefully to replicate the turtles textures. I chose a Flex foam with a latex skin for the skin parts and a PU resin for the shell.I wanted to make the turtle true to scale to give a real representation of it. The turtle I created is a young green sea turtle at 75cms. They do vary widely in the wild, growing up to 1.5 metres and bigger. This slideshow requires JavaScript. Follow me on Twitter.

Thursday, 26 April 2012. How about some more good ol' Portfolio. Here's a few more pages from the portfolio, this is some of my film stuff and personal work, the life drawing below this post is also included. It's only a first draft attempt so the layout isn't entirely spiffy, but it's given me a good idea of what I want on each page and how to order them. Gemma’s work has been performed by Mr McFall’s Chamber, the Red Note Ensemble, Dunedin Consort, Saint Magnus Cathedral Choir, Aberdeen University Chamber Choir and the Erskine String Quartet. Watercolour Studios released a CD of Gemma’s chamber music recorded by The Eris Ensemble in 2011.
