Map 3D and Murphs Law. Autodesk Map 3D tips and tricks. When will it happen? Marketing with Map3D plus. Add Custom Toolbars or Commands. Map 3D how do. Ever need to create your own toolbar or command in AutoCAD? Maybe you have some custom lisp routines you been using for years and need to add them to your current version of AutoCAD MAP3D. Even if I’m pro-ribbon there may be a time when a toolbar may be easier to get to those custom routines. As the right side changes display we start to fill in our param...

Map 3D and Murphs Law. Autodesk Map 3D tips and tricks. When will it happen? When will it happen? BIM, LEED, and GIS. What light fixtures are used in the building, how much energy does it draw off the electrical lines from the civil model that’s in our 3D City? Are the toilets low flush in the buildings? Are the waste water lines in the area able to handle it? Most of these questions get answered during the design process, but what about the existing buildings? The bigger question is once all the data is...

Geospatial World: April 2013
http://geospatialworld.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 9, 2013. ArcGIS: Packaging error - General function failure. Whoa 2 posts within 2 months. I'm on a roll baby. :-). In today's episode I want to document what I've discovered with the following lovely error when attempting to create a Map Package:. This particular map had some DWG files connected to the map, and some of these DWG names contained a special character "#", and also contained extra 'dots' in the name to delimit a date. For example:. Name#-2013.04.09.dwg. Until next time,.

Geospatial World: Improved Data Collection with ArcGIS Collector
http://geospatialworld.blogspot.com/2015/07/improved-data-collection-with-arcgis.html
Thursday, July 9, 2015. Improved Data Collection with ArcGIS Collector. Almost a year and a half between posts! I didn't say it was a good record. At any rate, here's a little tip I just stumbled across for working more efficiently with ArcGIS Collector. We have put together a few Collector apps for some clients as of late, and in many cases the data collection is happening offline, and without accurate GPS location information. Posted by Warren J. Geospatial World: More ArcGIS Woes with 'Special' Characters...

Thursday, January 9, 2014. More ArcGIS Woes with 'Special' Characters. It's no secret that I've griped and complained about many of ArcGIS's quirks that seem stuck or rooted in the 80's. One would think I wouldn't be surprised anymore when I come across such silly issues. The latest 'undocumented feature' I've discovered is that the Field Calculator. Will fail if there is forward slash ( ' ' ) in the Layer name. ArcGIS 11 can't come soon enough. Posted by Warren J. Medernach, BGIS, GISP.

Geospatial World: Happy New Year
http://geospatialworld.blogspot.com/2014/01/happy-new-year.html
Wednesday, January 8, 2014. Well, again, it has been quite sometime since my last post, and alot has happened. I had an extremely busy summer and fall. A colleague and I spent a good part of our summer and fall (on our own time and dime) working on an initiative that we feel will be a huge benefit to our organization. It is very exciting and I am getting a chance to combine two of my passions, all things mapping and RC Flying! Check out what we've been working on: http:/ maps.srk.com/uas.
