George's Great Adventure. Documenting my travel experiences. Punta Del Este, Uruguay →. June 17, 2011. Monday morning I caught the bus from Colonia to Montevideo, Uruguay’s largest. It was an easy 3 hour bus ride through farms and estancias (cow ranches). No wonder the meat is so good down here when you see these estancias with cow’s grazing out on large open pastures. Quite the contrast to what you see in Interstate 5 going between LA and San Francisco with the cow factory! Location: Montevideo, Uruguay.
