These are the [mis]adventures of the sailing vessel Windbird (svWindbird). Friday, May 30, 2008. As Windbird is broken, she won't be going anywhere for a while. So this blog is just a place holder until she is ready to sail (or at least move) again. Update: doesn't look like this will ever happen. Please see my other posts. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). sv Windbird: The Ugly Duckling
http://svwindbird.blogspot.com/2011/06/ugly-duckling.html
These are the [mis]adventures of the sailing vessel Windbird (svWindbird). Friday, June 24, 2011. Okay, she's not really ugly. in fact, she's downright precious. On my way back to the boat in my dinghy, I found a baby duckling floating in the water, alone, sick, tired, and half drown. So naturally, I scooped her up and took her home with me. Poor little thing was shaking and frightened. She couldn't be more than 2 weeks old. After several days, she has improved immensely! Okay, here's the hard part. ...

http://svwindbird.blogspot.com/2010/11/ignominious-death.html
These are the [mis]adventures of the sailing vessel Windbird (svWindbird). Wednesday, November 17, 2010. But alas, between my poor health (which makes working very difficult), and lack of money, and a general state of depression from those, Windbird has deteriorated beyond reasonable repair. Windbird does NOT deserve this! I will try and write a chapter or two every month. If you enjoy the stories, or just feel philanthropic, please consider donating. Its been a wonderful adventure for you, but its so sa...

sv Windbird: Duckie's New Home
http://svwindbird.blogspot.com/2011/07/duckies-new-home.html
These are the [mis]adventures of the sailing vessel Windbird (svWindbird). Saturday, July 9, 2011. Well, I finally bit the bullet and took Duckie to her new home. It was definitely a bit hard to let her go, but it's a beautiful little area in one of the marinas here in the area, with about a dozen other ducks around. Within 10 minutes, they were both in the water swimming around, with Duckie following the other duck. My love and best wishes go out to her. Good job, Lady Di! July 11, 2011 at 3:25 PM.

These are the [mis]adventures of the sailing vessel Windbird (svWindbird). Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Present Day Update - The Doldrums. Please forgive the lack of a new chapter. I have been. in the doldrums lately. What little energy and mental fortitude I've had, has been focused more on earning enough money for food and medications. I will return shortly with a new chapter. Thank you for hanging in there. Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Chapter 5 - Turtle Bay. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

These are the [mis]adventures of the sailing vessel Windbird (svWindbird). Sunday, February 6, 2011. Chapter 7 - Bahia Santa Maria. I'm finally able to see the beauty of the sea again, with it's white caps over an azure plain. The air is pure and is filled with sea birds on their constant search for food. Every now a then, we get a freeloader, who lands on the boat and hangs around for a bit, getting a free ride while resting their wings and drying out their feathers. As evening comes, I'm prepared for a...
