July 12, 2015. July 14, 2015. The new year brought about a lot of changes in my life. January’s trip to Lithuania and Latvia was just what the doctor ordered. My time in vilnius was eye-opening to say the least. Made some cool connections with people, drank cheap really beautiful beer, ate scrummy dumplings, hung out at the top of the world with spectacular view, freaked myself out in the kgb Prison, meandered around the old town at night and unusually for me made a lot of pros and cons lists.

July 14, 2015. July 14, 2015. I grabbed the bus from Vilnius and a few hours later I landed into snowy wintery Riga. The fresh crisp air ruffled my hair and woke me up with a start. I arrived in the dark so I wandered around old town, having a nosey at all the Christmas decorations still hanging. The fairy lights were magical. My red bobble hat was my godsend! April 18, 2015. July 14, 2015. Hungover but happy in Hamburg. After my escapades in Berlin, I was a little worse for wear to say the least. The 3 hour bus normally would be a breeze but hungover Laurie wasn’t in the mood… At all. But that wasn’t Hamburg’s fault mind. I arrived late and basically climbed limply into bed, no eye contact, no chat (miracles do happen). All I wanted was to be in the land of nod, no other destination was more desired. Street art galore…. Truely spoilt! Told you it was worth it!

April 19, 2015. July 14, 2015. Blackpool is a diamond in the rough. I grew up in Blackpool so I will always care and have a soft spot for its shabby charm. I left 8 years ago to move to Edinburgh but have always come home – less frequently these days I have to admit. I still have some family and friends who stay there. Plenty plenty plenty memories but I will just give you a couple of nuggets. The rock club the Tache was my grimey second home – hail Thursday night! See Blackpool can be pretty too!

This trip would be a goodbye to ten years closely intwined in each other’s lives. It was beautiful and short with a lot of meaning. We stayed in Brussels for the weekend and did a day trip to Bruges by train – picture this… Christmas time, markets, chocolate smell everywhere, beer on tap! What more can one want. You only need a tiny amount of each yarn and a small amount of stuffing. Finished nut is approx 2″. Using cream cast on 6 st. Kfb to end (12st). K1, kfb] to end (18st). Kfb, p2] to end (24 st).
