Gill Levin FRSA : Painter | Gill Levin paintings – industrial landscapes, man-made structures, nature, grasses, trees, landscapes

Lines at strange angles, criss-crossing, creating uneven spaces and shapes between. I see all these things in man-made structures that have been stressed or damaged. Also in nature - wild grasses, trees and the wonderful Norfolk light - all are a never ending source of inspiration. The painting above, Wrecked West Pier XII, featured in…

Grasses | Gill Levin FRSA : Painter

https://gilllevin.wordpress.com/paintings/grasses

Gill Levin FRSA : Painter. Gill Levin paintings – industrial landscapes, man-made structures, nature, grasses, trees, landscapes. All my life I have painted trees in all their various forms and the spaces between branches, criss-crossing. However, coming from London to Norfolk, fields of grasses, weeds and wild flowers are a huge source of inspiration: the graceful fronds, bending in the breeze and light coming through. Landscapes | Gill Levin FRSA : Painter

https://gilllevin.wordpress.com/paintings/landscapes

Gill Levin FRSA : Painter. Gill Levin paintings – industrial landscapes, man-made structures, nature, grasses, trees, landscapes. I am especially interested in the way the weather and wind colours affect sky, land and water. For this reason, I connect each rhythmically as though they are one, because of the effect each has on the other. The drama, mood and swift light changes are particularly exciting and inspiring. Still Life Paintings | Jane German

https://janegerman.com/still-life-paintings

My attitude to the still life is influenced by the work of William Nicholson, Manet and the still life paintings done by the Dutch artists in the 17th century which gave a vivid impression of everyday reality. In the past few years I have been exploring this theme and shall continue to work on it in the future. Radishes on Body Shop Bag, oil on canvas, 60 x 40 cms, 2012. The last picture in the series of Friesian Cattle. Cow Over the Hedge Portrait, 50×70 cms, oil on canvas, 2012. Cows viewed through a hedge, a fence or gap in a wall have become a recurring theme in my work over the past twenty years. Bird Paintings | Jane German

https://janegerman.com/wild-bird-paintings

Wild birds have always been among my favourite creatures. Since living in Norfolk I’ve produced many small, what I call, bird icons, which celebrate sightings. I use a range of reference and have a large collection of bird books, feathers picked up on walks, old bird’s nests and I take many photographs. These paintings are my homage to these beautiful, often endangered birds. Goldfinch, Red Berries, oil on board, 12 x 15 cms NFS. Little Egret on the Beck, oil on canvas, 30 x 30 cms NFS. Barnowl on a Post.

Saturday, April 11, 2009. Sufjan Stevens - Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing. Come Thou fount of every blessing. Tune my heart to sing Thy grace. Streams of mercy never ceasing. Call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet. Sung by flaming tongues above. I'll praise the mount I'm fixed upon it. Mount of Thy redeeming love. Here I raise my Ebenezer. Hither by Thy help I come. And I hope by Thy good pleasure. Safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger. Got a visual overdo...
