My attitude to the still life is influenced by the work of William Nicholson, Manet and the still life paintings done by the Dutch artists in the 17th century which gave a vivid impression of everyday reality. Bird Paintings | Jane German
https://janegerman.com/wild-bird-paintings
Wild birds have always been among my favourite creatures. Since living in Norfolk I’ve produced many small, what I call, bird icons, which celebrate sightings. I use a range of reference and have a large collection of bird books, feathers picked up on walks, old bird’s nests and I take many photographs. These paintings are my homage to these beautiful, often endangered birds. Goldfinch, Red Berries, oil on board, 12 x 15 cms NFS. Little Egret on the Beck, oil on canvas, 30 x 30 cms NFS. Barnowl on a Post.
