Wednesday, March 31, 2010. A lovely restaurant catering for families with kids. This place is amazing! Security: fenced, but no supervision- play at own risk. Go early, you will be there for the whole morning (and lunch and high tea.). They are closed on mondays and tuesdays (best to phone before you go). On friday evenings they do family dinners (with bonfires, marshmallow braai, kids can watch DVD inside or play outside -area lit up.) So wished we could've done that. Taking to the skies can be tough especially with little ones, here's some tips:. Have a cell phone. Monday, March 29, 2010. A National Park with the big five. Great way to spend family time as no-one can leave the vehicle. My four year old. Them off the map. My two year old. Loved the freedom of moving. Around in the car. He was more interested in climbing from one seat to another, but at 40km/h it wasn't a problem. Friday, November 23, 2012. Irene Dairy Farm (Pretoria and Surroundings). There aren't always a lot a places to visit within a city that has a farm atmosphere, space and IS actually a REAL farm! Irene Dairy Farm is my favourite midweek family hangout. (It gets busy over weekends but never unpleasant.) There is plenty to keep the children occupied and for you to feel as if you "escaped" the city for a few hours. Walk on the walkway. Look at ducks and Swans. Play on the jungle gyms.
