Academy of the Good Shepherd: July 2012
http://academyofthegoodshepherd.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Academy of the Good Shepherd. Tuesday, July 24, 2012. It's not often that I think so highly of a resource that I write a blog post about it. Recently, when I sold an item from Classically Catholic Memory. My email box was very busy with people interested in it. I had to turn them down, except for the first inquirer, and many responded with questions: "How did you like Classically Catholic Memory? What grades did you use it for? Which resources did you use? Etc So I decided to write a post about it. Wheth...

Academy of the Good Shepherd: February 2011
http://academyofthegoodshepherd.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Academy of the Good Shepherd. Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Saving Money . or trying to! Today is grocery shopping day . again! I am always amazed at how quickly we go through food around here. It seems that we shop for a month on Saturday and by Monday I'm hearing my 17year old, head in the fridge, saying "I'm hungry mom. Don't we have any food around here? It's really quite exasperating. What can they eat for snacks? Is a bedtime snack? So, the dilemma - how do I feed these precious and very "hungry all ...

Academy of the Good Shepherd: Colonial Williamsburg
http://academyofthegoodshepherd.blogspot.com/2012/09/colonial-williamsburg.html
Academy of the Good Shepherd. Tuesday, September 25, 2012. We had a fantastic time at Colonial Williamsburg this year! We've been there several times but this is the first year we were there for the Homeschool Days. The Ferry over to Williamsburg is always a big hit! Benedict Arnold came riding into town to try to convince us all that we were following the wrong leaders! We needed to go back to being loyal to England! This was one of several educational. The stocks, of course. We normally stay at a state...

Academy of the Good Shepherd: May 2012
http://academyofthegoodshepherd.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Academy of the Good Shepherd. Thursday, May 31, 2012. Deciding on the School Calendar is the 3rd Step. What better way to learn about the stars and constellations then by gazing up at them on a warm summer night? Next I print a form from Donna Young. This site has quite a few calendar printables. To choose from,. But I like to use a form like this. Or this form designed to keep track of attendance. I like that I can jot little notes about what week number it is and the reason for various breaks, etc.

Academy of the Good Shepherd: June 2012
http://academyofthegoodshepherd.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Academy of the Good Shepherd. Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Now that all the new books have been ordered I'll need to do the gathering part - pulling books we already own off the shelves. But before I start taking out next year's books, I really need to clean up from last year. The task cleaning up the school room this time is going to be monumental. Why, you ask? Let me give you a scenario to consider . Now, plan a trip to happen the weekend before the open house. Really? Did I really do that? You quickly s...

http://academyofthegoodshepherd.blogspot.com/2013/02/aar-aas.html
Academy of the Good Shepherd. Tuesday, February 19, 2013. My poor neglected blog! I'm in the process of discerning whether or not to keep this blog open. I have so many thoughts to post each and every day, but I find it more and more difficult to set aside the time to do that. However, I did want to write a quick post about a couple of my favorite curriculum choices All About Reading. And All About Spelling. The Academy of the Good Shepherd. February 20, 2013 at 12:07 AM. The Academy of the Good Shepherd.

Academy of the Good Shepherd: April 2011
http://academyofthegoodshepherd.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Academy of the Good Shepherd. Saturday, April 30, 2011. This is the final post in this series. After Builder, I have 2 more kids to go, but since they are a three year old and a 4 month old, it's hard to determine their learning style! Actually, I'm finding it difficult to determine Builder's style. I'm mostly sure he's a 'hands on" kinda guy, but really, aren't most boys in 1st grade "hands on"? Disposition: Thinks / Creates, Invents (! I see some of Builder in the descriptions of both the. Lap books wo...

Academy of the Good Shepherd: March 2012
http://academyofthegoodshepherd.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Academy of the Good Shepherd. Saturday, March 24, 2012. Finally, Spring, after a very long Winter! What happened to the long afternoon tea times when everyone was content to sit and listen to the books we were reading aloud? This year, it seems like everything was forced for some reason. Textbooks took the place of "living books" because "everything" was all conveniently covered. Workbooks ruled the day because they were easy for me to assign. Sigh. SIGH" - that's how I felt, like one big "SIGH". And my ...

http://academyofthegoodshepherd.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Academy of the Good Shepherd. Saturday, May 28, 2011. Sorry to be away for so long! We've been busy with the usual - track, dance recitals, trying to finish up school even though the beautiful outdoors call us, etc. I've been planning two big events - next year's school (which will be an upcoming LONG post), and our big trip out west. And the food will have to be purchased as we go. We'll take enough for the first week then find a grocery store. Some things that will be different for us this time:. We us...
