Deans in Singapore: August 2012
http://deans-in-singapore.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Our family's adventures in Southeast Asia. Wednesday, August 1, 2012. One of the items on the Singapore to-do list was to attend the horse races. They opened a new track about 10 years ago plus I wanted to see if they ran the opposite direction since the cars drive on the other side of the road.they don't. The track prohibits anyone under 18 from entering, which took the family out of the picture. Which is sad because they enjoy it in Texas. Won every week of the year for 7 years straight! The TotePik sy...

Deans in Singapore: One Month Later
http://deans-in-singapore.blogspot.com/2012/07/one-month-later.html
Our family's adventures in Southeast Asia. Monday, July 16, 2012. I realized today that it's been one month since we left Singapore. It already feels like a lifetime ago. Here's a recap of what we've been doing during that time. We took an amazing trip to South Africa and Dubai on the way back to Texas. I need to write about it soon or I'm going to forget the details because that vacation also feels like it occurred several years ago. Thursday morning I set out to get the kitchen unpacked because it's th...

Deans in Singapore: April 2012
http://deans-in-singapore.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Our family's adventures in Southeast Asia. Monday, April 30, 2012. Big Hair 80s Night. Since Singapore lags so far behind in the music scene, it should come as no surprise that Duran Duran came here recently to perform a concert. Several friends were huge fans of the band back in its glory days so we bought tickets for the show. And to make the experience even more memorable, we opted to revisit the 80s for the evening. It's so.BIG.". Ally, Alyson, Jia, Bree, Kim, Me and Shema leaving for the show. The c...

Deans in Singapore: Hmmm...where did I put that?
http://deans-in-singapore.blogspot.com/2012/06/hmmmwhere-did-i-put-that.html
Our family's adventures in Southeast Asia. Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Hmmmwhere did I put that? After a busy few days with the girls, we woke up to a not-so-healthy home Monday morning. Elizabeth had a fever, Megan had a headache and Emily had goo coming out of both eyes. At the doctors' office, I began to ponder: how hard could it be for our regular pediatrician back at home to recreate the records? I just hope that those shot records provided the last moment of dread because, in about 4 hours, the rest ...

Deans in Singapore: Thank You for the Music
http://deans-in-singapore.blogspot.com/2012/06/thank-you-for-music.html
Our family's adventures in Southeast Asia. Thursday, June 14, 2012. Thank You for the Music. Brian joined Jai on guitar for a Foo Fighters tune and Ivy and Jeri Ann helped me on vocals for a couple songs. We definitely accomplished the festive mood I needed during what had been an emotional week. Jeri Ann and Brian. Ali and Jeri Ann. Thank you for the music, Jai. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Deans in Singapore: February 2012
http://deans-in-singapore.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Our family's adventures in Southeast Asia. Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Third time was a charm when it came to finally visiting the capital city of Thailand. After two failed attempts at a girls getaway in the past, I excitedly departed Changi Airport Thursday evening, February 9, to spend the weekend with 10 girlfriends from my running group and participate in the Bangkok Half Marathon. Clothing quickly became comedy when our group realized that every time we visited a temple or palace, the appropriate...

Deans in Singapore: June 2012
http://deans-in-singapore.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Our family's adventures in Southeast Asia. Monday, June 18, 2012. Our last few days in Singapore were pretty easy-going. Even the sea shipment packing went much smoother than the previous packing experience. Thank goodness! I scheduled that packing day for Thursday, one day before we left the island. Joyce took the girls out for most of the day while I hung out in the condo, observing while the rooms became more empty throughout the day. Our family arrived at Changi Airport around midnight Friday night f...

Our family's adventures in Southeast Asia. Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Finish What I Started. Well folks, I am back! After providing the first rambling posts from Singapore to this blog in 2008, I will close it out over the next few weeks as I wrap up in Singapore. Over the next few weeks you can expect me to blog about laundry, shopping and other mundane tasks that are never boring when a guy tries to do them alone in Asia! Stay tuned for hopefully more posts. Sunday, July 22, 2012. Thursday evening, the la...

Deans in Singapore: March 2012
http://deans-in-singapore.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Our family's adventures in Southeast Asia. Tuesday, March 20, 2012. I'm confident my mother has single-handedly spread the news across the US, but just in case you haven't heard, the Deans of Singapore will once again become the Deans of Southlake this summer. We confirmed a couple weeks ago that our expat adventure here will end in a few months. For me, "mixed feelings" sums it up well. When we told the girls, 9-year old Megan immediately sent emails to her grandmothers and closest cousin announcing the...
