Few weeks back we visited the Contemporary Museum of Seoul. It is a bit of a journey from the center, but the metro took us there nicely (Gwacheon stn). The area is worth seeing. It is a vast recreational park, with a Science Museum, Amusement Park and a Zoo. The whole place is a bit worn out, but has the charm of an area that could comfortably fit thousands of people. Ice Tea and Samgak Gimbap. This is the most common snack food you can get in Seoul. There is varieties of tea – this, the “17” is probably our favourite. It apparently has 17 ingredients. Most of the teas that are sold here are unsweetened – which we really like. Actually we saw a TV-program where they were teasing tourists with these packages – not many managed to open them! This week we suddenly realized we didn’t yet check the animals in Seoul Zoo. The park is located in the Grand Park. Along with an amusement park and Contemporary Art Museum. This one goes in to the list of affordable things to do in Seoul. For entrance we paid less than 2 eur each. The animals in the Zoo seemed comfortable enough – the whole place was nice and peaceful. Grand Park is a half an hour metro ride from the city, and it really shows. On our way out, we saw a beautiful sunset. Picture of the Day.

DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) is not only a border between the countries, but also serves as a nature reserve. A Weekend in Shanghai. We decided to visit a close neighbour of us, Shanghai, mainly because we got a really good deal from a local travel agency Zenith. Who booked us tickets and arranged visas. Only drawback was that we had to pay cash. In Shanghai we met our old buddy from Tallinn times, Yan, who showed us the local places in the outskirts of Shanghai. Friend like that is priceless – we would have never found such restaurants, bars, by ourselves. Also, the fresh fruit drinks of Shanghai were delicious!

Sing, Sing, Apore! Last weekend we flew to the tropical city of Singapore. The independent island is a stone throw from the equator and we were told the weather stays about the same all through the year. It was hot and humid, but the city is wonderful. Singapore is well organized and clean, with a population of mixed ethnicity – mostly Chinese and Malaysian origin. The city features exotic districts such as Little India, Chinatown and Arabic Quarter. And everybody speaks English! Be the first to comment!
