What is a coeliac? Jute Backerei - gluten free bakery in Berlin. Still full from the suzette gluten free galettes. I started to walk around the block and just so happened to stumble upon a completely gluten-free bakery! Jute was a goldmine for gluten-free baguettes, rolls, and loaves - all 100% gluten-free, I just wanted to buy everything in there! In the end I opted for two different types of baguette, a welcome snack for the journey back to the airport. Definitely check it out if you're in Berlin.

A fantastic gluten-free lunch option if you're in the area. The staff were more than helpful when I asked about gluten in the salad, it's not a specific gluten-free place so I double checked. What is a coeliac? What is a coeliac? A coeliac cannot eat gluten; the protein found in grains like Wheat, Barley and Rye (among others). What happens when a coeliac ingests gluten? Well, it's not pretty. In the small intestine there are small protrusions called villi - the job of the villi is to help increase the surface area of the small intestine so that nutrients from your food can be absorbed into the bloodstream. That sounds pretty bad - is there a cure? Where can I find out more information?
