Going to the water. My Fly Fishing Journal. Sunday, July 27, 2014. Exploring Mountain Streams and Fishing the West Branch of the Delaware in the Catskills ( lll ). I fished with a tenkara rod in the upper Willowemoc Creek in the state land and its branch, Fir Brook yesterday. The lower part of Fir Brook has a long pubic fishing right bank. Going to the water. My Fly Fishing Journal. Saturday, December 21, 2013. Monmouth Beach, NJ. I fished in Monmouth Beach from 6 to 10 this morning. So I decided to go to Monmouth Beach. I fished for a couple of hours, but nothing happened. Then I moved onto the jetty and caught a small one right away. I got one more hooking, but failed to land it. Going to the water. My Fly Fishing Journal. Thursday, May 29, 2014. Sandy Hook, NJ. I fished at the tip of Sandy Hook, NJ in Memorial Day weekend. In the evening a seal appeared in the water. It wasn't afraid of fishermen and was swimming back and forth right in front of us, playing with the rolling water in the wash. We, fishermen enjoyed this unexpected visitor, even though it bothered our fishing. After entertaining us for awhile, the seal finally landed on the beach for a rest. Monday, May 19, 2014.

Going to the water. My Fly Fishing Journal. Monday, October 28, 2013. Surf Fly Fishing - Facing the Ocean. I went to Robert Moses and fished the ocean side for four hours around high tide. I usually prefer fishing in calmer water on the bay side or inside of the bay. But in this fall season, I am a little more adventurous and fish in the rough ocean beach surf to get some experiences. It is a tougher environment to fish than in the calm water. Let me see how I do next time. Sunday, October 20, 2013.

Last week I saw bunkers jumping in the Bay and I was not sure why. So this week I tied some large 8-inch bunker imitation flies just in case stripers might be chasing them. I could barely cast them out 25 yards in the side wind. I hope I'll have a chance to catch some large fishes with these large flies. It will be very exciting. Going to the water.

My surf fishing experience with the two-handed spey rod. Monday, May 16, 2011. Sandy Hook 2011 (Ⅱ). I went to Sandy Hook again last Saturday and fished the receding tide from early morning till noon. I tried Scientific Angler 750 grain fast sinking shooting head line for my 13-weight spey rod. The line went well with the rod. It becomes my fastest sinking system. I fished like wet fly fishing in the tidal current to make the fly swing like other fly fishermen in Sandy Hook Point. I caught one school bass.
