Guanajuato, León, and San Miguel de Allende. June 20, 2015. Okay, turns out they were actually kind of right about that. The cathedral was about the only cool thing there. A city of a million and a half people, and nothing to do. Tonio and I were the only people in the hostel too. The hostel was right off the main square and it had a sweet roof terrace. At least we got to watch some street comedy from the roof while drinking some beer. Every night a group of people (who were obviously dressed very oddly)...

June 23, 2015. One of the first things I noticed was how this was very unlike the other Mayan ruins I’ve been to. Whereas Teotihuacán is flat and Monte Albán is on the hills with a view that stretches for miles, Palenque is buried in jungle. Although I was alone, there was a fairly loud. The entire time I was there, presumably some kind of insects. Animals cried and howled in the thick trees that surrounded the stone temples. The soundtrack to the ruins was one of my favorite parts.
