Cocktail Hour under the tree of forgetfulness. By Alexandra Fuller was a gorgeous book I read over a couple of days lying by the pool in Zimbabwe - as you do! http://minnieseyes.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 30, 2010. I have two secret loves, CHAIRS and LAMPS! At the moment I'm intrigued with Emeco (The Electric Machine and Equipment Co). If you haven't heard of this American company, you will probably recognise their 1006 Navy chair for sure, they claim it's their identity! What I love about these chairs, is that they are made from 80% recycled aluminum, they're handmade, hand polished and designed to last for 150 years. (obviously the designers have children! Thursday, March 25, 2010. I took...

Friday, May 21, 2010. I'm actually going to confess that I've dreamt about a chair! Yep, I did! THE SPANISH CHAIR", I dreamt about this baby (or twins, as this chair always seems to look good in a pair, it is so beautiful one just isn't enough! About 18 months ago while we were renovating, I was sooooooooo excited, I dreamt of it arriving in the delivery truck, blur, HUSBAND SNORING, blur, then me enjoying a big fat cup of coffee sitting in it! Unfortunately this never happened, these babies aren't cheap!

Minnies Eyes: July 2010
http://minnieseyes.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Sorry, it's been a while since my last post, kids on holidays, so busy busy busy! The other day I was discussing with a friend the furniture company Thonet, and their classic 'Bentwood' range of chairs! It got me thinking "why is this chair such a classic"? It just seems to make any restaurant or cafe look sooooooooo chic and french, particularly if the table has a perfectly starchy white table cloth! So, why is this chair called the 'bentwood'? I didn't know that! Minnies Eyes a...
Minnies Eyes: April 2010

Wednesday, April 28, 2010. I've never been to New York, Ohhhhhhhhhh I dream, I can't wait to one day visit this inspiring city! I've even looked on Google Earth to see Central Park, 5th Ave and my favourite shops from an above view, I'm crazy I know! But there are so many things about this city that I love and I haven't even been there yet. The street fashion is an obsession of mine, but I also love seeing inside New Yorker's homes, particularly old warehouse apartments! This could end up a disaster!

Saturday, October 9, 2010. I've looked and looked, but keep coming back to my original idea of something similar to the Yuzuru Yamakawa range of wicker arm chairs, I know it's very 50's/60's and I'm sure our grandparents' owned some of this furniture, but I LOVE IT! I just feel the urge to have some wicker! Hoping my kids don't get into the habit of picking at it, like I remember doing as a kid). I honestly remember doing it as a child, sometimes not even aware, my wicker picking just became an addiction!

Tuesday, June 22, 2010. I'm shocked that I'm writing this post, as I never thought I could get soooooooooo. excited about a butcher shop, especially as I don't eat meat.
